Located a hundred feet from the water and near the center of town at
359 Commercial Street, The Tree House offers amazing unobstructed
views of the town pier, harbor and bay from five picture windows,
and from its large private outdoor deck overlooking the harbor! But it's
called The Tree House not just because of its birdseye views, but
because of its cherry floors, its pine walls and ceilings, its oak
paneling. You'll find country antiques, French doors, stained glass,
skylights and plants. Sleeps two.

Excellent! close to everything and still great view. Cozy and romantic and rustic. Only drawback- on days when it is above 80 the place warms up and the one a/c unit in the bedroom shut off frequently when the water drainage was full. But a/c is not common in homes there, and sleeping on the deck a couple nights was neat too, with the stars...

Upgraded comfortable seating

Review submitted: April 12, 2010   Date of arrival: April 12, 2010

The chairs at the table now have cushions and the cushions on the sofa have been upgraded to high-density foam. I thank the author of the above review and have done what I can to address the "issues" - after all, I want to make The Tree House the BEST place in Provincetown to stay!

Good, but could be better

Had a nice week at the Treehouse in August 2009. Great harbor views from the deck and excellent location, near galleries, shopping and nightlife. The apartment is very rustic cute; having washer/dryer in unit was wonderful. The bedroom is right above busy commercial street so noise was noticeable, but turning on fan or ac made it easy enough to sleep and things seemed to quiet by midnight especially on week nights.

Complaints: 1) Decent-sized deck with beautiful view would have been so much more useful with a chaise lounge or two and an umbrella so you could sit out of the sun. (If we'd had a car, we would have gone to Walmart and bought some folding ones ourselves.) Picnic table and two uncushioned adirondack chairs and direct sun through mid-afternoon made it only comfortable to sit for a short while especially on nice days.

2) In fact, there wasn't a comfortable cushioned place to sit in the entire unit. Love seat in living room appeared to be deck furniture, hard wood covered by thin foam. Every other seat in the place was bare wood. We ended up reading on the bed more than we would have liked, and that put us far away from the great view we were paying for.

Overall, a good stay. But with a few improvements, this could a great spot. The deck and view are the highlights of the Treehouse and yet they aren't fully taken advantage of.
