Sad to Leave

Our son was going through a life transition so we thought it would be good for us to all go away for a change of pace and scenery.
When we arrived we were greeted and welcomed by our hostess and given the cooks tour of the property.
From what we could tell, through the dense woods, one cannot even see the property lines let alone know how far reaching the lot is.

The house was spotless and the beds were incredibly comfortable.

Our son rested and explored around in nature. He reported back to us that it was really enjoyable.
He is a wall artist and does faux finishing in houses located in and around Lake Minnetonka.
He was really impressed by the art fresco walls. He even asked the owner how it was done and was surprised it was done by a "do-it-your-selfer."
We did not venture outside much as we really wanted this to be an intimate family happening with the focus being all on him this time.
Our daughter drove in from La Crosse and joined us for one of the nights.

This gave all a chance to be alone with all of us there in one place at the same time together.
We would have to say that the seclusion, non-interrupted private time, back to a simpler way of life with no interruptions, (we all turned our cell phones off for focus on what really matters), we were for more talkative with each other than what was achieved back when had we tried to meet in our usual places (our own homes).
For this reason the weekend really paid off!
The big thing with this rental home is the solitude we found there and proved to be healing for all of us as a family and as individuals.
My daughter works at the Government center in Hudson and commutes back and forth to her home in La Crosse every day.
She remarked that "this lake home stay that I drove in for actually made the drive "for the first time it was WORTH IT!"
Her co-workers are only a stones throw away - so she will be able to tell them to give this place a try.
And, oh yes, the cheese and cracker snack basket was a welcome surprise to have after our road trip in from our house in Wayzata. We do caution however, about driving across the Twin Cities any where say between 3:00 pm and say 6:00 pm.
But aside from that the commute was not too bad.
My husband is a dentist and has been spoiled in his travels and he now wishes to recommend this place to his contemporaries.

Peace and Quiet

What more can an older couple ask for? My husband and I drove from River Falls Wisconsin to try a weekend on lakeshore as this time of year is so lovely. Soon the autumn leaves will be arriving and we will go leaf-watching, but for now we just enjoyed the restful shoreline as the summer has turned into school season and things are much quieter now. There was no rainfall so things are kind of crunchy, but the air temps were perfect, and no bugs! We had a nice private getaway in nature and will recommend this special place to our friends.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway
