About Augusta:

Augusta became the capital of Maine in 1827.  The Kennebec River splices Augusta in half. Unlike many towns in this situation, however, it has retained its integrity as a single city rather than dividing into two entities.

The Maine State Museum is a must-see for anyone wanting to know more about the state, its environment, and history. Other points of interest include: The State House, Children's Discovery Museum, Old Fort Western and Blaine House.

Come visit.  You will not be disappointed!!

Great House-Great Owners

Ned (United States)
Review submitted: March 11, 2013   Date of arrival: February 25, 2013

I rented this place for 2 weeks while working in Augusta as it was better priced compared to any hotel in the area. And it was MUCH better than any hotel! Very spacious, clean and well stocked. It has multiple, nice bedrooms and great living spaces. I would love to come back, in the summer, and not for work.

This is an ideal place for a family (or two families even) with kids, looking for a high quality getaway at a great price. The house is located about 10 mins from Supermarket and easy to get into town and to 95. The owners are very nice and easy to communicate with.

I highly recommend staying at this house, anytime of year!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, romantic getaway

This is an extremely nice home on an inlet of a lake just minutes from Augusta. The house is nicely laid out and extremely well stocked. Communication and booking was a very easy process.

A Homey Escape

Mary B (San Francisco)
Review submitted: January 17, 2013   Date of arrival: December 27, 2012

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house in Augusta. The layout allowed for a very comfortable family gathering. It is clear that a lot of care and thought went into the recent renovation, decor and stocking of the house. The location is great. It is on a quiet road with views of a pond but a short ten minute drive to Augusta for stores and restaurants .The horizon at sunset is just beautiful. Joe and family made the rental process seamless and made detailed preparations for our winter stay . We feel so lucky to have found this cozy home to rent and look forward to staying again on our next visit to Maine .
