When visiting picturesque Government Camp, always follow posted signs. This one, in particular, should pose no problem. You'll find it in the living area of this charming two bedroom chalet with room for six, just footsteps from shops and dining in tiny and charming Government Camp. "Relax," it reads, something this chalet - with its 46" flat-screen TV with DVD player, gas fireplace, access to Collins Lake amenities, and proximity to Mount Hood skiing and activities - makes really easy!

Following directions can sometimes have a downside: you might get lost in all the comfortable pillows when you sink into the plush furniture to - what else? - "relax" and watch a flick or enjoy the cable TV, including seven HBO channels, ESPN, and ESPN2. Check for local events or make a reservation on your laptop; WIFI is free. Put your feet up on the ottoman and finish the next chapter of that book while you wait for dinner. Or, just step out on the balcony, sip your drink, and fill your lungs with fresh mountain air!

This condo has two bedrooms. The lucky occupants of the master bedroom will rest their weary bones on a king-sized bed, complete with TempurPedic memory foam mattress and a comfy patchwork comforter for those chilly Mount Hood nights! In the other bedroom, you'll find a twin bunk for the kids and a full/double bed, also with a TempurPedic mattress. This bedroom has 32" flat-screen for late night viewing. With two and a half baths, wait times for the bathroom are cut down considerably. There's also a washer and dryer, so you won't be lugging clothes over to the laundromat.

In the morning, enjoy your breakfast at the dining table where all six of you will fit just fine! This beautiful kitchen with stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher for easy clean up) is equal to any culinary challenge - breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Lots of elbow room for your chef at these long granite counters. It's fully stocked with all the pots, pans, and utensils to make a great meal, no matter what time of day. (There's also a gas grill out on the deck.) Don't feel like cooking? Walk over to Government Camp and let someone wait on you in one of five eateries serving everything from shepherd's pie to prime rib. While you're there, imbibe a fresh draw of IPA at Government Camp's brewery.

Your stay at this lovely chalet comes with access to Collins Lake's clubhouse, Creekside Lodge, where you can you can warm up and dry out in rustic lodge decor in front of the gorgeous floor-to-ceiling fireplace with stone facade. And bring your towel! Winter or summer, you'll also be able to soak in one of two hot tubs, steam in the sauna, or take a dip in the year-round outdoor pool. (Pool decks are heated to melt the snow). Skiers: Skibowl is just three minutes away and Mount Hood Meadows is about 17 minutes away on the eastern side of Mount Hood. Summer is a great time at Collins Lake as well. Follow one of the trails on Collins' 28-acre complex, or hike/bike Glade Trail up to iconic Timberline Lodge for a taste of Mount Hood history. And golfers, we haven't forgotten you! Head over to nearby Welches (about 12 miles; 16 minutes) where you can tee up.
