Overlooking the lush greens of a former golf course, this special three bedroom getaway is not your typical beach cottage. The home is quite spacious, with most of the living areas on the upper floor. In the great room, vaulted timber ceilings, walls of tall windows, and warm colors make the space especially inviting. Settle into the comfortable sofa overlooking the old golf course, keeping an eye out for the neighborhood elk and deer who have reclaimed the former fairway as their own. If it happens to be a rainy day, light a fire in the old-fashioned wood stove and curl up with a good book for an unbelievably cozy afternoon.

When the weather is nice, you can start your morning with a cup of coffee on the outdoor deck, breathing in the fresh coastal air and making plans for your day (even if they only consist of a walk on the beach and a late-morning nap). The full kitchen makes it easy to prepare meals for your family, and there are even two separate dining tables so you needn't disturb any jigsaw puzzles or Monopoly marathons. The outdoor deck also has a charcoal grill for sunny-day barbecues.

The bedrooms in the home have all been recently upgraded with brand new mattresses, bedding, and linens. On the upper level, the master bedroom has a comfortable queen bed overlooking the golf course, and a cable television for late-night (or lazy morning) movies in bed. The children's bedroom has three twin beds, and a steep ladder leads to a loft with rock climbing wall and a few mattresses so the younger guests can play safely. There is one full bathroom on the upper level of the home.

Downstairs is the open studio space, where one wall has floor-to-ceiling windows facing the golf course and the other has floor-to-ceiling mirrors, much like a ballet studio. This makes a wonderful spot for a yoga retreat, organized group activities, or simply extra space for kids to unwind and play. There is one twin bunk bed against the wall, and adjacent to the studio is a semi-private room with a full-sized bed and half-bath. The lower level also has its own full bathroom and a laundry room with washer/dryer. The house is equipped with Internet access for those who need to stay connected, or simply want to look up a nearby hiking trail or fishing guide.

The home feels wonderfully private and peaceful nestled in the trees of sleepy, mostly residential Neskowin. The town has an especially beautiful beach, with iconic Proposal Rock and a "ghost forest" of centuries-old tree stumps, just a very short drive or slightly longer walk (about fifteen minutes) from your front door. For golfers, there is an active course just across Highway 101, and hikers won't want to miss the Cascade Head Scenic Area just south of town, where a gorgeous trail offers unparalleled views of the coastline and opportunities to view local wildlife.

While Neskowin itself is very peaceful and unassuming, it sits halfway between the small-town charm of Pacific City to the north and the casino and outlet mall of Lincoln City to the south. However, once you arrive in this peaceful retreat, don't be surprised if leaving is the last thing on your mind!
