Great View-Location/Unit Needs Updating

I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was very happy with the location.
The vacation rental was clean.
The property manager was adequately helpful.
Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.

The view from this Unit is wonderful. The space itself is very nice. We were met with a variety of "snippy" notes and "sticky notes" telling us what NOT to do because of previous renters. This was, to say the least, insulting as we pride ourselves in leaving our vacation spots in better condition than we found them. Upon first inspection of the unit we noticed broken blinds and dirty carpet. Lack of hot water(which was addresses by the staff by saying that she was taking the maintenance man to a ball game so we would need to try things over the phone). There was a loss of water at one point, we were told that there was nothing that could be done on an Easter weekend night at 9pm..water was restored within the hour, but this was not a proper answer for the situation. We found that the electronic equipment in the main living room was dated and cumbersome with lackluster instructions and rude sticky notes. The furniture was uncomfortable and in need of serious updating. When forced in doors due to the weather it was impossible for all occupants to find comfortable seating for family time. All furnishing were in need of cleaning and updating. We were left with the feeling that we were intruding on someone else's space when in fact we should feel welcome and comfortable. We are sorry that this was our experience for our family Spring Break. The location and view of the complex are great! It was wonderful to wake up to the ocean each morning. Our suggestion would be to invest in a binder with all of the information necessary to the unit(i.e. rules/request from owner, restaurants, sites, information about complex(we did not know where common room and weight rm were located until last day of visit). (Get rid of the random rude sticky notes.) Furniture/carpet should be clean and updated so the renter doesn't feel that they are laying on someone else's dirt and grime. Again, the complex/grounds were very nice and maintained well.
