comforts, renovated in 2005, large pool, large 2-acre wooded
property, lavender, decorated in Provence colors, surrounded by
vineyards, olive groves, with view on Mont Ventoux.
Three Private Units (each with own entrance and own terrace):
La Grande Peyriere (3-brm - also available as 2-brm);
La Petite Peyriere (1-brm);
La Pichounette (studio - also available as 1-brm - this bedroom
may go with La Grande or La Pichounette).
Ideal for couples, families, groups. In the heart of Provence.
Massive stone walls, large windows, shutters, lavender,
flowering shrubs - and also dishwasher, central heating, CD
player, etc. La Peyriere has all the Provence features & more.
The house has been decorated by a local artist in the colors of
Provence (honeyed ochres, deep blues and reds). Lavender has
been planted around the house. The 2-acre property is fenced,
and large enough for strolls. It's out in the countryside, the house
shaded by huge old oaks and pines.
Then, just outside the property are vineyards and olive groves
and tempting country roads. Thirty minutes away is Avignon, with
its bridge, its ruins, its festivals, its miles of shops and
restaurants. Closer by, just 5 minutes away, are 2 charming
towns (Carpentras and Mazan) with restaurants, shopping,
street markets.
Mt. Ventoux can be seen from La Peyriere, and the peak - with its
breathtaking view over hundreds of kilometers - can be reached
easily. It's only 26 km away, and the drive goes through a series
of scenic little villages. These are just some of the charms of this
place.
An extra feature is that the large pool (4 m x 10 m) is far enough
from the house that early swimmers don't disturb later sleepers.
La Peyriere is ideal for anyone who loves peace and restfulness,
and a pool, and for anyone who loves visiting Provence, where
there is so much to see and do.
The Units - all warm, charming, restful and relaxed.
La Grande Peyriere (3 or 2-brm). This unit has a spacious living
room with a fireplace and Louis XIVth mantlepiece, a separate
kitchen, and its own terrace area, 1 1/2 baths.
La Petite Peyriere (1 brm). Ideal for a couple (though it sleeps 4
people). It has one bedroom, and a living-room with kitchenette.
The terrace is on a different side of the house from the large
unit's.
La Pichounette (studio or 1-brm). Newly done. Beautiful. Large
French doors opening onto view of Mont Ventoux.
Lavender grows around the house. Large trees shade the
property, which (2 acres) is big enough for a stroll. Outisde the
gates are olive groves and vineyards, quiet country roads.
In every direction are old villages with cafes and winding streets.
There is also Rousillon, where ochre is minded, and scores of
other sites, including a huge underground fountain, old printing
presses, and cellars for winetasting. The landscape is
breath-taking.

TV, DVD player, CD player, full kitchen with microwave and dishwasher (dishwasher - large unit only), and with full set of cooking utensils, washing machine, barbeque, linens and towels provided, playground area for children (slide, seesaw, sandbox). Activities and AttractionsActivities 4 km away are 2 towns (in opposite directions), with restaurants, antique fairs, cafes, shops, and wonderful old streets. The smaller town, Mazan is ideal for fresh baguettes in the morning. Then, a chateau that was once the residence of the Marquis de Sade is now a charming restaurant. As for Carpentras, it is much larger, has 2 supermarkets, and 2 weekly fairs. Both are crowded and bustling. There are wonderful small shops, including a chococlate shop, pastry shops, and shops with traditional Provencal fabric. And then there is Avignon - a large town with masses of historic places, including the famous bridge, a winding river, a shopping street, and festivals galore.
