Ocean Harbor North is the only complex in the area with both a marina and private beach.  Boat slips are usually available for rent.   The private Atlantic  beach is uncrowded and pristine.  You can kayak from your front lawn.   There are two swiming pools on premises, a spa, tennis courts, clubhouse, exercise equipment, marina. 

Snowbirds come year after year and there are many events, excursions and cook outs in season organized by residents.  

A few minutes to the south is Fort Pierce, home to wonderful restaurants, the Sunrise Theater with  ever changing events from opera to rock bands,  the Saturday morning Farmer's market,  Jazz events,  Friday fest, Art strolls, antiques in the trunk.  There is something going on almost every day.   Just stroll through the lovely waterfront park.  Stop at Uncle Carlo's gelator for real Italian gelato, or the Tiki Bar or Cobb's landing or the Tapas bar or Bachus Gallery.   

10-15 minutes to the north is upscale Vero Beach.  Here you will find lots of nice restaurants, the Riverside Theater, Vero Beach Art Museum (you can take an art class or movie class), parks, beaches, and much to do.  

There is fishing, boating, kayaking, and plenty of great shopping.  Try the consignment shops on the Miracle mile, or head out west to the factory outlets or malls.    Vero has  and AMC 24 theater complex and also the Majestic with 12 screens.
