Best vacation ever!

Our group of six Canadians had the pleasure of staying at Hale Aloha during Reading Week this year, and we were thankful that of all the things we'd planned, this was without any hesitation the best part of our trip. I would recommend this home away from home in a heartbeat.

Hale Aloha is right in the epicenter of Kailua - a short walk to Kailua Beach Park where one can play in the waters with the provided boogie boards, or for the more shore oriented there's a quaint little market with lattes and sandwiches. Heading in the other direction takes you a short walk to Kailua Town with tons of eateries and boutiques (where I spent many an hour sitting while my wife browsed the racks of Mahina). There's lots nearby if you're not looking to go too far, but to get to any other major destinations you'd have to either be a master cyclist (Judy provides a few bikes for your exploratory needs) or rent a car at the airport (ample parking, just like the website says).

We rented the front suite which was beautiful and very clean; the pictures on the website look exactly like how the place actually is. It's very cozy with lots of kitchenware and working appliances, and a vast fridge to store your beer and BBQ meats. Entertainment is plentiful - there's a TV with lots of channels and books/magazines lining the walls. The rooms are a remarkably comfortable size with beds that were soft with clean linens upon arrival. There's a large kitchen to cook meals with a Costco not that far away by vehicle. The only downside was one bathroom (when travelling with four girls, probably even having four bathrooms would still be problematic) but if you don't have any shame there's an outdoor shower that I think you're actually supposed to use to wash off beach sand...

Judy was the nicest property owner I've ever had the pleasure of working with. She's always an e-mail away, and even answered our phone calls from a different country just to ease our anxiety. She provided several options to us for our stay and was very patient with our inquiries. She gave us lots of suggestions of what to get up to, all with the formality that only Hawaiians can bestow.

Given the location, the goodies and amenities that came with the house, and the hospitality provided, the place is well worth the listed renting price. Book early! And if you ever have any questions from one potential renter to another who's stayed there, contact Judy - I will be more than happy to be a reference!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway
