Gorgeous Ocean View Villa available for the week of July 6-13, 2013!

Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club is our Hawaiian home away from home.   The resort is truly worthy of its five star distinction.  Our ocean view villa is a beautifully appointed two-bedroom, two-bath, with separate living and dining areas, full kitchen, a private lanai, washer and dryer, master suite with a separate bath, huge soaking tub and large glass-enclosed shower.   The villa features a king bed in the master suite, a king bed and double sofa bed in the guest suite, a queen sleeper sofa in the living area, flat screen TVs with premium programming, DVD player, and a fully equipped kitchen with cookware and tableware.

The grounds are beautifully landscaped with waterfalls and lagoons, lush tropical plants, and the best part – Waiohai Beach Club sits right on the sandy shores of world famous Poipu Beach -- named America's Best Beach by The Travel Channel, ranking first among the 10 "best" beaches nationwide.  Our beach is a series of golden sand crescents, with excellent snorkeling (we think the best on the island) and swimming, as well as boogie-boarding and one of the best surf breaks on the island.  It is not uncommon to see sea turtles, and you can always view some of the most beautiful tropical fish right off the beach.  Spend a lazy day in the sun snorkeling or swimming in the ocean, or relax by one of the three large pools and sip on a Waiohai Colada, made poolside at the Honu Bar.  Check out our vacation photos of the pool and beach -- amazing!!!  

The beach is perfect for kids, and the resort also offers a shallow children's pool for a day of splashing and playing.  Grab a snack, groceries, supplies or a mocha at the MarketPlace (on property), work out at the fitness center and let the kids enjoy one of the many children's activities scheduled throughout the week.  Just steps from the resort you will find great shopping and dining, including Roy's Poipu Bar & Grill, Brennecke's Beach Broiler, Keoki's Paradise, The Beach House, and a must visit -- the world famous Puka Dog.

Kauai is an amazingly lush island, and small enough so that you can experience its many environments in a day of sightseeing.   Our resort at Poipu is located at the southern end of the island, and receives very little rain, while the northern end of the island is one of the wettest (and most lush) places on earth.   We never miss a drive around Waimea Canyon (Kauai's breathtaking "Grand Canyon of the Pacific", as nicknamed by Mark Twain), especially the Na Pali Coast Overlook (see my photo), and enjoy visiting Wailua Falls, as well as Hanalei Bay and Ke'e Beach on the north end of the island.  One of the most spectacular things you will ever experience is seeing the Na Pali coastline, viewed from the water on a snorkeling or dinner cruise.  By the way, if you golf, there are amazing courses nearby (Kauai Lagoons, Kauihuna, Princeville (north), ...).
