The only waterfront rental house with water views from almost every room and a private dock!  Very relaxing and natural decor-everything blends in with the beautiful water that is just steps from your back door.  When you enter the kingsize mastersuite, you will be overwhelmed by the view. It has its own bath and a large glass-walled view with access to a private deck. Enjoy watching dolphins, boats, sunrises and sunsets on the calm waters of Taylor Creek. The newly remodeled second mastersuite has a queen bed with full bath and waterview. The kitchen has an open floor plan with a breakfast bar and a large pine dining table that seats 10 and allows everyone a view of the wild ponies and sailboats. activities and attractions in Beaufort Atlantic Coast

Look out your back door at the wild ponies that roam on the
protected Rachael Carson Preserve across the water. Cape Lookout is a nice round trip in a
day to see the lighthouse. Collect shells on Bird Shoal or Carrot Island.

Ride bikes anywhere your heart desires (just 5min. to town on bikes). It is a nice 10 minute stroll to the downtown docks. Walk to town, have lunch or dinner and see the million-dollar yachts that stop in Beaufort on their way up and down the Intracoastal Waterway and the great Atlantic.
You can go ferrying, kayaking, sailing, walking, bicycling, cruising, shelling, and lounging. You can visit Fort Macon, too. And when no one is looking, you can check your email with free WIFI.

Boat slip with deep water access in front yard! Downtown Historic
Beaufort is a stroll away. There are beaches, state parks, kayaking,
excellent shopping, awesome restaurants, and a  ferry to the outer islands. This is a quiet vacation spot for couples and families. Just across the draw bridge is a more-active Morehead City, with miniature golf, theaters, malls and all the touristy activity kids sometimes want. Fishing is excellent and many tournaments are held in Beaufort all year round. Walk or bicycle to the North Carolina Maritime Museum and see Blackbeard the Pirates' recovered artifacts.
There is also a wooden boat-building workshop. Bring your boat and tie
it up to our deep water access dock!

Just the Vacation We Wanted!

Susan (Great Sacandaga Lake, NYS, USA)
Review submitted: March 23, 2013   Date of arrival: February 6, 2013

We were looking for a restful, peaceful place on the water to enjoy 6 weeks of winter, away from the northeast NY weather. We found the perfect spot. The house was spacious, beautifully decorated, full of sunlight as it faces south on Taylor Creek. The bedrooms gave us space to share with family and friends. Walking distance to Front Street Beaufort, the neighborhood is quiet and friendly. We so enjoyed our stay and can't wait to go back again next year!

Recommended for: age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: For your next relaxing waterfront getaway, visit Beaufort.

Great place in Beaufort!

Nancy (Shepherd, Michigan)
Review submitted: May 27, 2012   Date of arrival: April 25, 2012

We were looking for a place to rent in Beaufort on/near the water that was pet friendly and luckily we found Lauren's place. The house is layed out great for two or three couples or 2 couples in the masters and another room for the kids. The kitchen had everything needed to cook in or you can walk a few blocks down Front Street and try many great places to eat. Our favorite was Clawson's - especially for the seafood bisque!
The dock in "back" was convenient when we rented a Carolina Skiff for a day. Just pull in and load up the family. We loved watching the wild horses graze from the windows and dock - especially during the mornings and evenings.
Thank you again Lauren, you were fantastic to work with, the house was all we needed and more.
FYI: I was so glad to see Beaufort has curbside recycling, we did our part!

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: Thank you for your kind comments. So glad you enjoyed our dock and waterfront location in Beaufort. We really appreciate you participating in the town's recycling efforts as well. We look forward to seeing you again soon! Lauren & Stan

Tranquility on the Water

Sherry (Raleigh)
Review submitted: May 3, 2011   Date of arrival: April 29, 2011

If you want tranquility on the water, this is the place. The house is located right on Front Street, just far enough down to be away from the crowds, but close enough to walk to downtown or the newly opened Front Street Village boat house at the other end of Front Street. This house is a mix of old and new, the owners have updated some portions of the house, other portions are in need of updating (like 2 of the 3 bathrooms), but they seem to do a little every year. Just don't expect perfection because it is an older house. The view is great whether inside or out, plenty of room to relax, enjoy and easy access to everything in Beaufort and beyond. Full kitchen and bar that allow you to cook on your own if you don't want to eat out every night. Good value for the $$'s.
Sherry

Recommended for: girls getaway, sight seeing, tourists without a car

Owners response: Sherry thanks for returning to our house for the 3rd time! The bath tubs in the 2 original bathrooms are the only things in those rooms that have not been updated.
They are fully functional, however, and have never given cause for complaint. Maybe new fixtures would make them seem newer. The most important thing to remember is that we appreciate you returning year after year which speaks volumes. Lauren
