Vacation Rental Description

         Almost Heaven is a three story chalet located on Yonah 
Mountain three miles from Helen Georgia. From the balcony you can 
see for miles and enjoy spectacular sunsets or you can look out over 
mountains or down in the valleys of Smithgall Woods. We have four 
spacious bedrooms with pillow top beds and comfy surroundings. On 
the main floor you can enjoy a huge hand made stone fireplace. You 
can prepare meals of your choice or grill on the patio .When the sun 
goes down we have a game room complete with professional pool table 
and electronic darts. After a long day you and your favorites can 
sink into the hot tub and pass the night away. We supply a 
completely furnished home away from home. All you will need to bring 
is your suitcases and your choice of cuisine. We would like to hear

Vacation Rental Amenities

      180 degree mountain views enhance your stay.Wildlive feeders 
within view of the balcony attract deer, wild turkey, and other 
seasonal wildlife.The hot tub is enclosed for year round use and 
offers the same mountain views. We have a game room with darts,pool 
table,direct tv. Grillout or cookout on the balcony or fix your 
meals inside in our kitchen. Hiking starts at the end of the 
driveway and from the top of Yonah mountain you can see forever.  

Activities and Attractions

       Welcome to North Georgia. We are in the foothills of the 
Appalachian Mountains. The highest mountain in the state can be seen 
from our house. Alpine Helen is about 5 miles away and hosts 
numerous points of interest both recreational and shopping. From our 
balcony the sun sets illuminate mountains and valleys for as far as 
the eye can see. Wild game including deer and wild turkeys often 
feed within view and make interesting photo shots. Hiking starts at 
our driveway. An up hill hike is less than a mile to the top of 
Yonah Mountain. From the top you can see for miles. 
                                                                    
       Alpine Helen is a Bavarian hamlet,thru the middle of town 
runs the Chattahoochee River, which offers fishing, wading, and 
tubing. For the outdoor enthusiast every road leads to hiking, 
waterfalls, and mountain streams. Unicoi State Park and Anna Ruby 
Falls should be on your destination list for a hiking day trip if 
that’s your fancy. SmithGall Woods also offers some of the best out 
door activities in the area and is home to Dukes Creek 
watershed.                                                           
    
       Each season offers special events; you can enjoy mountain 
views and a warm fire place in the winter, in the spring (trout) fly 
fishing  season opens and the city starts its celebrations. In may 
you can catch the special tagged trout and watch the great balloon 
race. By summer the water warms up for tubing in the Chattahoochee 
River. Hiking is superb, from bird watching to mountain flowers. On 
some days you can see all the way to North Carolina.		     
     
       My favorite season is fall. Oktoberfest begins and every 
night is a festival. Just looking for fall colors? Every part of 
White County releases its colors from mid October thru November. 
Driving around you can experience the colors on every curve 
anticipating what the next flow of reds, golds and yellows will look 
like.								     

       I encourage you to spend the holidays with us. Our luxury 
cabin can accommodate up to 10 people. Helen turns the Christmas 
lights on a Thanksgiving and keeps them on until the end of the 
year. Some times we even have a white Christmas.		
	
       My favorite activity is fly-fishing year round, during open 
season or delayed harvest on limited creeks. You can land Rainbow 
and Brown trout as large as 24 inches if you’re lucky, and every day 
is a good fishing day. No matter what you catch, the river scenery 
and the rushing water seem to put you in a trance and at the end of 
the day you don’t want to leave. The local guides at Unicoi 
Outfitters can assist you with your fishing needs.

Vacation Rental Rates

      WE offer daily,weekly, monthly rates. We have specials thruout 
the year. Base rate is double occupancy plus additional charge for 
each additional person. Weekly rates range from $1050 to $1450 US 
per week.
