Hacienda de Ojos Azules in Chelem

First time on the rental market, Hacienda de Ojos Azules is a newly renovated beach front home in the wonderful fishing village of Chelem, just 10 minutes from the port town of Progreso and 30 minutes from the capital of Merida. It has a main house on the beach that has two floors. The first floor has an open living plan with a large open kitchen, living room, dinning room, half bath with exterior access and a laundry room, there is also a double deck facing the Gulf of Mexico with stairs to access the beach and an outdoor shower.  The kitchen comes fully equipped with service for eight, five burner stove large refrigerator/freezer, microwave oven and toaster oven as well as a blender to enjoy margaritas at sunset.  The second floor has a huge master bedroom with a large balcony facing the Gulf of Mexico. A large master bath with two stone sinks, double shower and large closet. In addition there are two "casitas" or bedrooms seperate from the house, with private entrances and their own bathroom. The Bodega or storage space has fishing gear so you can enjoy a relaxed morning fishing from the back deck, as well as bycicles and a gas grill. There is also a large pergola located between the main house and the guest rooms to enjoy the cool evenings grilling and shooting the breeze. This house is equiped with a pressurized water system so you won't miss home. Built to relax your worries away or enjoy a romantic vacation watching the sunset every evening from the back deck and enjoying coctails

Chelem is a fishing town of 6000 people located 10 minutes drive
west of Progreso which is the harbour city of 50000 people.Merida
is the capital city of Yucatan and has a population of 1
million.It is a 30 minute drive away.Chelem has a few small stores
for daily supplies and a few nice seafood restaurants.Major shops
including Walmart,Costco,Staples,MacDonalds etc are available in
Merida and Progreso.Golf course is about 15 minutes from
Chelem.This part of Mexico is very friendly with a family atmosphere
and virtually devoid of crime.The ocean is great for swimming,
snorkeling, fishing, boating etc.
Enjoy your private beach and sunbathe or play beach Volley-ball.Very
long and wide beach for you to explore.Petra is a very nice Mexican
lady who speaks English and Spanish and is your caretaker.She is
always eager to help and can be reached 24/7 on her cell phone.

Enjoy a relaxed lifestyle on the beach.Play golf at the excellent
golf course.Go on a boat ride.Watch Dolphins and Flamingoes.Enjoy
fresh seafood and Petra will send the fisherman right to your
doorstep if you ask her.Enjoy the coconuts in your backyard.Merida
comes to life every Saturday night with singing and dancing in the
downtown streets till 4 am.Enjoy it all while sitting on the side of
the street in open air restaurants or bar.Visit Mayan ruins at
Chitzen Itza recently designated as one of the seven wonders of this
world.Experience the boardwalk of Progreso about 1 km long and lined
by fine restaurants and stores.There you will also see the longest
pier in the world projecting an estimated 7 kms into the ocean.Visit
the Cenotes which are underground caves with crystal clear water for
you to bathe in.Visit Chixulub the site of the historic meteor that
hit the earth millions of years ago and ended the dinosaur
dynasty.Food and drinks are cheap.

If you are renting for a month or more, the renter is responsable for the gas usage. A/C is available.

50% deposit is required at time of rental then the balance due at the time of check-in.

You will be provided with two full tanks of gas 20Kg each, which power the water heater and stove.

Toilet paper, Paper towels are complimentary for the first month, if you are renting long term the renter is reponsable for basics after the first month. The house will be cleaned before an after the rental. Aditional house cleaning is available at an aditional cost.
