Location:  Wild Dunes, Isle of Palms, Charleston Area, South Carolina, USA
Accommodations:  Townhouse, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths (Sleeps 6)

Beach Club Villas are favorite accommodations within Wild Dunes.  The ocean view from this unit is exceptional.  This Beach Club unit has the closer of two set-backs from the ocean, so it affords the best view and just steps to the beach and pool.  Rated “deluxe” when managed by Destination Wild Dunes.

Listen to the surf from the 2nd floor Master bedroom.  This bedroom has a king sized bed and a deck that overlooks the ocean.   The other 2nd floor bedroom has twin beds and private bath.
The third bedroom on the main floor has a king bed, hardwood floors, and uses the downstairs bath.  All the upstairs bedrooms were newly carpeted when renovations were made. 

The fully equipped kitchen was recently remodeled with granite countertops and tile flooring with an open look that allows unobstructed views of the ocean.  The living room area is hardwood floors with new sofa, loveseat, chair, and new 42-inch LCD tv.  Off this area is a wonderful screened-in porch where you can relax and enjoy the beach and ocean views.

Ideal waterfront vacation rental

This was our 8th Charleston rental on one of the perimeter islands in the last decade. Coming from Long Island, NY & now residing in the western mountains of NC, this affords us our annual 'beach fix". Since we were vacationing with another couple & there were no children, Wild Dunes was very appealing. The resort is impeccably clean, has a layout conducive to walking or bicycling, is beautifully landscaped & has a high caliber of accommodations. The area met & exceeded our expectations.....including the number of golf balls lost in the water hazards on the "Harbor Course".
The 31 Beach Villa ocean view is awesome. It is but a brief walk to the beach & the environs are quiet & private. The rooms were clean & as pictured in the website.
We are seasoned VRBO renters. Details we appreciate are: kitchen well stocked for meal preparation;
furniture comfortable; rooms sunny, airy, modern & nicely decorated; no offensive premises' odors;
close-by parking; supportive,comfortable bedding; nice linens=down comforters, many pillows, extra blankets, & many thick towels; plenty of toilet paper, soaps, detergents, etc. for our week stay;
excellent TVs w cable service; all well functioning appliances; dual zone AC/heat (one for each floor).
both iPad & Kindle compatible with villa's WiFi.
Our few minor criticisms are echoes from the previous reviewer & as said before, should not discourage anyone from renting this unit. The misalignment of the upper master bedroom sliding door
does create a gap. It allows heat into the room during the day & the ocean breezes to 'whistle' through
the room at night...unique 'white noise'. (weatherstripping=fix). And while the bathrooms are 'dated', they were not objectionable except for the awful shower-heads in the 'king' bathrooms. One erratically sprays water & the other pulsed so strongly it felt as if you were under a dental Waterpik spigot. Both could, no make that should, be easily replaced.
Again, minor complaints....this is a wonderfully sited & appointed rental.

We recommend all of Charleston....despite so many re-visits, we still love the area...its history, buildings & gardens. We strongly recommend our new 'find', the Five Loaves cafe in Mt Pleasant.
Hard to find, it's tucked in the corner of CrickenTree Village shopping center (#1055 rt.17)=unique cuisine, very reasonable $ = worth trip.

We thoroughly enjoyed Charleston & coming home to the villa & have no reservations about returning & re-renting it in the near future.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Great, Affordable Ocean Front Property

We are frequent visitors of wild dunes because of the quality of the resort, so my review isn't about wild dunes itself, just the property for selection purposes on wild dunes for renters. This property was just as described in the photos, and was very clean and comfortable. ResortQuest manages the property and were extremely helpful and kind to us during our stay. It is ocean front with a short walk to the beach from the back through the dunes. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs and 1 downstairs, so it makes for a nice place to stay for a small family with in-laws or friends. The upstairs is carpeted and the downstairs hardwood. There is dual a/c so you can regulate temperatures differently on each floor, which we liked because our child stayed upstairs a littler warmer and we could stay downstairs a little cooler. All appliances worked and functioned well including a toaster, coffee maker. We used the stove, refrigerator and washer/dryer and had no issues with any of them.

Things to note, but none of which impacted our stay or would deter us from staying here in the future:
The bathrooms are not updated, but all three function fine. The sliding doors are older so they do not seal completely. It made the master bedroom a little warm in the high point of the day. The wifi code was not readily apparent so we had to figure it out. The DVD player is either old or extremely sensitive - we had a lot of issues with skipping during movies that did not happen on our laptop (i.e., the DVD wasn't the problem).

Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing
