Beachfront Home on Lake Michigan in Douglas Michigan in Saugatuck

Come spend a week at our beachfront home on beautiful Lake Michigan.  Enjoy time with your family on our picture perfect beach, which has 100 feet of private frontage. There is also a large screened-in porch offering panoramic views of the lake and, at the end of the day, a front-row seat to spectacular sunsets.  If you are seeking the perfect summer destination for the entire family, look no further.    

The overlook in front of the house is situated high above the Lake Michigan shoreline, which provides breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding beach area. One has access to the beach via our private staircase which has roughly 94 stairs. Therefore, this route is somewhat restricted to those who are physically able to make the journey. Alternatively, one could venture on a ten minute drive to beautiful Oval Beach for easy access via automobile.    

The main floor has a fully furnished kitchen with a living room and dining room area.  We have a large table that can seat up to 8 comfortably.  We also have a full bathroom on the main floor that is easy to access.  The back deck has a propane grill, which is perfect for a family barbeque. 

The second floor has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms.  One of the bedrooms has a king sized bed and two twins.  The second bedroom has four twin beds and the master bedroom has a king sized bed.  We provide all the linens and towels that you will need during your family's stay.

We have two TVs with cable, but we do not have any internet connection.  However, there is free wifi just down the street in downtown Douglas.

We are 1-2 miles from downtown Douglas, which offers a charming shopping area.  The cottage is also a short distance from downtown Saugatuck, with its many fine dining options and its ecclectic mix of shops and art boutiques. 

If you are feeling adventurous, take a short drive to Mount Baldy or Oval Beach.  You can also visit Crane's Orchard, which allows you to pick your own apples and peaches in season.  Krupka's blueberry farm also offers u-pick opportunities during the mid to late summer. 

For the golfing enthuasiasts, there are several very nice golf courses that are a short drive from the cottage. 

We're looking for weekly rentals to families during the summer of 2013.  Weeks run from Saturday to Saturday with a check-in time of 4:00 and a check-out time of 12:00.

A cleaning fee of $80 will be added to each reservation and a property damage protection fee of $59 is applicable on all reservations.  Groups of 10 people or more will be charged $130 for cleaning and will be required to purchase a property damage protection plan of $69. 

Also, please note that we are required collect and remit a 6% Use tax to the state of Michigan on all short-term rentals described above. 

Please note that we cannot guarantee your reservation until we receive a signed lease agreement and a reservation deposit.  Reservations will be granted on a first come first serve basis so be sure to act fast and book early.
