Quiet and Peaceful

canadian (Paradise Hill, Sask. Canada)
Review submitted: April 17, 2013   Date of arrival: March 28, 2013

We were looking for a low-key sunny getaway with our children. The house was very clean and well maintained. Having the kayak and fishing rods was perfect. Our 13 yr old son and 10 yr old daughter spent their mornings and evenings fishing out in the bay behind the house. The kids also played the piano in the house. That is probably the most they ever practiced without me yelling at them. The house is out of the way so you do have to drive to most of the different activities. This wasn't a problem for us because we were looking for a quiet place. Most of the time we ate at the house but a few times we ate out. We went to Key West and ate at the Outback Steak house which was very good and well priced, The Conch House had awesome potatoe soup. The beaches at Cannon beach and Founders Park are smaller but that's how beaches in Florida are. We went to Teatable Key, along the highway, with a picnic, fishing rods and snorkel gear and had a very relaxing day. Daniel, the owner, was very helpful and easy to deal with. Our family would go back to this area again for a peaceful and quiet getaway.

Owners response: Hello Dear friends From Canada: We are very pleased that you and your family could enjoy a beautiful vacation in Key Largo, Florida USA. We also love to know that our house was a peaceful and quiet spot for you to rest after a hard working year. We are glad that the kids could go fishing and kayaking in the surroundings areas on the back yard of the house. We hope that you will give us the opportunity to host your family again. Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to host your family on your vacation trip. Best Regards, DANIEL AND FAMILY

Daniel is the best host you could hope for. I am sure he would try to accomadate you for nearly anything. My wife, son, and his wife, came mostly to bird watch. The glass bottom boat is worth your time. The airboat ride in the everglades was the highlight of a great week!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing

Owners response: Dear Friend, it was a pleasure to host you and your Beautiful family in our home. We hope to host you again in a short time to enjoy a good BBQ which unfortunately we could not realize at this time. See you soon and wish you the best. Daniel and Family

Best house in Key Largo!!!

Norene (Higganum, CT. USA)
Review submitted: February 24, 2013   Date of arrival: February 16, 2013

The actual view is just as pictured with a calm tropical breeze gently blowing the palm trees and the sun warming your face. It is spectacular day and night. The house was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was easy to find. At the end of the canal at the house is a beautiful lagoon, where we launched the kayak. We went out several times. The Mangroves along the shore are very beautiful and go on as far as you can see. The birds among the Mangroves include Brown Pelicans, White and Grey Egrets and Great Heron. One morning while I was fishing I saw a three foot long Hammerhead shark. One day my son pulled in a great big Blue Crab.
My family is the adventurous type. John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park is a great place to start and is only 10 minutes away. We rented kayaks and toured the Mangrove waterways, went snorkeling, fishing and swimming. It was very beautiful and we saw a lot of fish and different birds. The Ibis are fun birds to watch. The next day we took a tour on the “Glass Bottom Boat”. Daniel recommended we go when the seas were calm, so we did. It was great. We saw shark, sea turtles and tons of wild colored fish.
We spent one day down in Key West. The ride took about two and a half hours. We saw the free range chickens throughout old town. One hen even had a little chick with her-very cute. We had our family picture taken at the “Most Southern Point in the US”. At the end of the day we went to the Zachary Taylor State Park. This was a nice place to swim in the ocean, snorkel or body board. We stayed and watched the sun go down and it was so peaceful. Although we chose not to, you could easily take a day trip into Miami or go for dinner as it is only 1 hour away.
At the end of every day we returned to the house. We had internet access whenever we needed it. The living room was comfortable and the flat screen TV was nice to watch Red box movies on. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of blankets to keep us warm. At night we were able to see the sea in the moonlight from the deck and in the morning the sunrise, which was beautiful.
One of our favorite things was the authentic Argentinian Barbecue Daniel prepare for us. The food was great and Daniel is the consummate host. He was always available to recommend restaurants, fishing spots and good places to see the sunset. We left Key Largo with a new friend and wonderful memories.

Owners response: Dear Andy and Family. We want to thank you for having chosen us to stay in your last vacation in Key Largo, Florida. Honestly does not happen often to find people as polite and humble as you and most importantly not happen every day Make friends with whom it misses when not on your side. God grant that we meet again and share a good conversation with a glass of wine and why not a good BBQ. We miss you and looking forward to see you again.
