Fabulous as the house may be, the real attractions lay outside the doors. Alpine Meadows Ski Area is a five-minute drive, and you will have first dibs on the powder while others are still driving. With Alpine and Squaw Valley now united, you can ski half the day at Alpine then take the free shuttle over to Squaw for the afternoon. In the summer, Bear Creek's private pond and beach awaits your splashing fun.
