Tollgate is a peaceful community just outside charming Sisters. In Tollgate itself, you can enjoy staying in a laid-back community with amenities like a swimming pool, tennis court, and bike paths; all the while, the unique downtown shopping and dining of Sisters is less than three miles away.

The cabin is nestled on a pine tree-surrounded acre of land, with a private backyard hot tub and plenty of room for up to six guests. With an open floor plan and spacious loft, your group will enjoy the freedom to congregate together in the great room or find a private spot within the home for a little quiet time with a good book.

The main floor's great room is open and sunny, with a fully-equipped kitchen on one end for preparing home-cooked meals. You'll find all the pots and pans, cooking gadgets, dinnerware, and appliances you might need, including a dishwasher for easy clean-up. Grab a stool at the breakfast bar to sip a glass of wine, or seat everyone around the dining table for family meals.

An old-fashioned gas stove makes the room especially cozy on snowy evenings, while skylights and abundant windows fill the space with sunshine. Settle into the comfortable yet stylish low-slung seating to watch the neighboring wildlife stroll past, or enjoy a movie on the flat-screen TV with cable and DVD player. There's also wireless Internet access for browsing restaurant reviews in town or planning a ski lesson on the mountain, and shelves of books, games, and puzzles in case of a rainy afternoon.

The main level has a master suite with king bed and a private full bath. Upstairs is a second bedroom with its own queen bed, and the open loft space has a full-sized futon. Between the two sleeping areas sits a second full bath. The spacious layout makes it easy to share the space with three couples or a group of friends (please note the loft space with its wide-set railing is not suitable for young children). Each bath has a hairdryer and plenty of fluffy towels.

Back downstairs, the fully equipped laundry room (with washer/dryer, iron, and ironing board) leads to a single car garage. Through the living room's sliding glass doors, you'll find the large private yard with hot tub surrounded by pine trees (and a provided selection of multi-sized Crocs for your trips to and from the hot tub!). The expansive deck has a gas grill for barbecues, and from late spring to early fall, you'll even find a relaxing hammock and net for volleyball and badminton games.

Just beyond the backyard, Tollgate residents and guests (including you!) can access the seasonal swimming pool, tennis court, basketball court, and horseshoe pits. There are miles of mountain biking and hiking trails that wind through the scenic Deschutes National Forest. The surrounding area is rightly famous for its plethora of outdoor adventures, no matter what the time of year.

In the winter months, skiers can choose to drive less than half an hour to family-friendly Hoodoo, or travel about an hour to world-class Mt. Bachelor. Nearby sno-parks offer tubing, snowmobile rides, Nordic skiing, and snowshoeing.

Choose your summertime adventure: hiking through the national forest, fishing in the Lower Deschutes or Metolius River, golfing in Sisters, mountain biking along the McKenzie River Trail, whitewater rafting, or immerse yourself in the Old West ways with a backcountry horseback ride.
