Watch ocean-going ships and the Cape May ferry from the penthouse windows and upper deck, at our recently-remodeled beach house, just a few steps from the dunes at laid-back Lewes Beach.
If you don't want to cook in our spiffy new stainless-and-granite-countered kitchen, it's just a block or two to the Dairy Queen or Harry’s Deli - or a few more blocks to all the downtown dining and charm and that quaint old Lewes has offer.
Walk across the street to our gentle, sandy, uncrowded beach on Delaware Bay. Or, for open ocean surf, take a short shorefront drive or bike ride to miles of undeveloped Atlantic shoreline at Cape Henlopen State Park.
House sleeps ten people: 4 BR, 2 BA on main level; plus 3rd floor penthouse master suite with king bed, pull-out sofa and loveseat, and luxury marble/tile bathroom with whirlpool tub.
Ground level walk-out basement / garage, with sunroom / playroom, laundry area, bike-and-beach-gear storage space.

activities and attractions in Lewes Delaware
Lewes Beach is an ideal spot for relaxed old-fashioned beach vacations, away from noise and neon. Just 100 miles from Washington DC, Baltimore, or Philadelphia; 16 miles by ferry from Cape May, NJ; and just a few miles north of the better-known (and more crowded and commercialized) Rehoboth Beach, DE.
Ride a bike, rent a kayak, or cast a fishing line off the jetty at the inlet. 3 miles of smooth walkable bay beach near your door; plus miles more of ocean beach nearby.
Take a dolphin-watching cruise, or a party-boat fishing cruise – or a windjammer cruise on Delaware’s historic tall ship Kalmar Nyckel, when she’s in port –
Take a ferry ride from Lewes to Cape May, New Jersey, and back (the "3-hour tour", literally!) At $18 round trip for adult foot passengers, it’s the best "cruise ship" deal you’ll ever find, anywhere.
Stroll across the drawbridge to the quaint seaport village of Lewes, visit museums, shop for antiques or gourmet treats.
Board the old restored light ship "Overfalls" at its pier - or maybe try a lighthouse tour by boat.
Launch your trailerable boat at the large public boat ramp in Lewes -or launch your light craft right off the beach near the house.
Try Delaware’s tax-free outlet malls and action / waterslide parks a few miles inland (away from our quiet beach)
Visit the old-fashioned Rehoboth Beach boardwalk, eat cotton candy, rub shoulders with the crowds (well, maybe once -)
Take a tour of the Dogfish Head Brewery in nearby Milton, DE
Wildlife refuges full of birds nearby, too -
- and golf, and tennis, and u name it -
