Cheerful & sunny, it is ideal for your Summer Vacation, Fall Retreat, Winter Holiday or Spring Break. This Italianate Victorian restored by Owners, both Architects, is a great base to explore the area. Well located in the Historic District & a short walk to town with its myriad of attractions, it is surrounded by an all-season garden of specimen trees & shrubs. Tall ceilings, gracious rooms, large windows, striking detail, hand planed panel doors and plank floors evoke a prosperous period in Mystic's Seafaring Heritage. Captain Wheeler sailed ships to China. The original design of his substantial home has been preserved, incorporating new systems and modern conveniences.

Colorful, light-filled, corner rooms look upon village and harbor. 5 BR's each with private bath (4 with 2 twins, 1 with queen) & a bright cupola double (must share bath on floor below). The fully equipped bright kitchen has access to the porch with dining for 4 & the garden with seating for more. Enjoy a sunrise breakfast or sunset repast. Washer/dryer, cable TV, bed linens and bath towels included.
Our home is a comfortable gathering spot enjoyed by all who visit. The 5 BRs with private baths attract colleagues for a retreat, school friends celebrating a special birthday, mother's on a yearly getaway, families of bride or groom, wedding parties, families celebrating a birthdays, anniversaries, childbirth, graduations and couples.

Take a short walk to village shops, restaurants, world renown Mystic Seaport Museum, Marinelife Aquarium and Dr. Ballard's Institute for Exploration. Partake in village festivities: Annual Art Fair, Taste of Connecticut, and other events. Sit in the riverside park with an ice cream cone and watch the landmark bascule bridge rise every hour to let the sailing schooners pass. Take an evening cruise from the Seaport. Paint the harbor, waterfront, marinas and boatyards with other artists. Ride bikes, kayak, canoe, fish, windsurf or sail in the river and Fishers Island Sound. Swim and sun at a variety of nearby beaches, tamer ones to the pounding surf of South County. Walk around the neighborhood with a booklet from the Mystic River Historical Society and learn about Mystic's vibrant seafaring past while enjoying a significantly preserved historic neighborhood.
