Luxury Condo, short walk to downtown, heated year round pool in Banff/Canmore

We love to travel, but we always come home thinking how lucky we are to live so close to the Rocky Mountains.  We needed a base camp for our adventures in the Rocky Mountains.  With the convenience of being able to walk downtown to several choices in restaurants and pubs after a hard day out adventuring in the Rockies, this condo was an obvious choice.  If you are looking for a place with limitless outdoor activity in the Rocky Mountains where the locals go, Canmore is the place you want to go. 

Our condo (or cabin as we like to call it) is located in the final phase of the Lodges at Canmore.  It has two bedrooms - one on the main floor and the other on the second floor in the loft.  The view from the balcony is an amazing view looking down the Bow River Valley, perfect spot for BBQ'ing up world famous Alberta steak while sipping on a glass of red wine.

The best amenity of the Lodges at Canmore is the heated pool, it is kept open until -20 deg Celsius.  If you don't want to try the pool at that temperature you can always warm up in the hot tubs.  There are also two hot tubs that you will have access to, one by the pool and a more intimate one that only those in our phase can access.

We've tried to stock the condo with all the amenities of home.  We vacation at the condo too as much as we possibly can and have tried to make it as comfortable as possible.

Where do you start....there is so much to do...but I'll give you some highlights.

Downhill skiing - Sunshine (30 min drive), Mount Norquay (30 min drive), Lake Louise (45 min drive), Nakiska (45 min drive)

Golfing - In Canmore - Silvertip, Canmore Golf Club, Stewart Creek; short drive from Canmore - Brewster's Kananaskis Ranch, Banff Springs, Kananaskis Mount Lorette, Kananaskis Mount Kidd

Nordic Center which was used for the 1988 Winter Olympics - Cross country skiing, Biathalon, Mount biking

With Canmore being in Kananaskis Country and only 5 minutes from Banff National Park there is limitless other activities such as hiking, back country camping, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, white water rafting, caving, mountain climbing, ice climbing, skating, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, scuba diving.... the list goes on and they are almost all free!!!  You will have to pay for a park pass if you go into the National Park.

In town you can enjoy shopping, museums, dining from local pubs to fine dining.  You can take the 20 minute trip to Banff to enjoy more of the same and also take in the hot springs.  Calgary is only one hour from Banff if you want to take in some big city life.
