In the Neighborhood:   Walk to community park with exercise/jog path, horseshoes, playground and pavillion.    Several churches nearby as well.

In the City:   Cape Coral boasts many parks with almost any outdoor activity you could want.  Also there are indoors centers that host events and programs such as dance, sightseeing, etc.  There is a large water park open seasonally with tube rafts, winding waters, steep slides, winding slides, and pools of varying levels.    There are nature parks to watch manatees swim and so much more. Many community events such as an Arts & Crafts fair are periodically hosted by the city.   At the Cape Coral beach and pier, monthly events with music are held.

In the County:  Lee County is home to several major league baseball teams.  There is the Thoms Edison and Henry Ford winter homes open to the public.   The Edison Pageant of Light is a week long event in early February that features a televised parade.    Shopping abounds from boutique shops to outlet malls.  Germain Arena hosts world class entertainment and there are several venues of Broadway level theatre and dinner theatre.   

Cape Coral is a residential community where one can relax and just enjoy life.   But, it is also in a location that is nearby to many VERY ACTIVE places. 

Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel: about a 30 minute drive to popular Ft Myers Beach with sandy shores washed by warm gulf waves; or  Sanibel beaches which have lots of shelling spots and famous restaurants and boutique shops.

Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL is just 90 miles to the north, about a 2 hr drive.  There are two theme parks with Busch Gardens-- the original area with rides and the recreated African Sveldt plus they have their own water park with several pools and slides and even a wave action pool. 

Miami has a large international airport and one of the best zoos on the east coast.   There is the star filled Miami Beach area, and of course, the ocean.     Miami is about a 3 hr drive from Cape Coral.

But, probably the most visited area is Orlando, FL.  , which is about a 3 1/2 hr drive from Cape Coral.   But, oh the many things that are there.   There is Disney with four theme parks, Universal with two theme parks;  and much, much more.   And, with another hour drive, you can reach the space coast and visit Kennedy Space Center.
