Located within walking distance of Historic Longbeach Village, Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, guests can walk or ride bicycles to get everywhere. In addition, a free trolley offering both air-conditioned and open-air seating runs the length of Longboat Key and Anna Maria Islands from Coquina Beach through St. Armands Circle to Downtown Sarasota, permitting easy access to shops, groceries, and attractions.

The gorgeous white sand beaches of Longboat Key are enjoyed by residents and guests at vacation rental properties like this De Narvaez property. This home is ideally suited for boaters. A seawall runs along the back of the home with a small dock available for your use. BYOB (bring your own boat) or rent one just down the road at Cannon's Marina.

In addition, LBK has many pristine natural areas open to the public. Accessible by shallow boats at the north tip of Longboat Key, Beer Can Island offers a stunning place for picnics, parties, fishing, swimming and sunbathing. It can also be reached by walking across at low tide – but keep in mind that you have to walk back at low tide as well! Whitney Beach, towards the north end of the key across from Whitney Plaza, has public parking, and there are a number of well-marked beach access areas. Although there are no amenities, these beaches offer beautiful white sands, graceful sea oats, sparkling Gulf waters and refreshing breezes.
