If you're looking for a comfortable getaway in the smokies, sidney's mountain retreat is a handy way to enjoy gatlinburg. Only about a mile and a half from downtown gatlinburg, sidney's provides a quiet escape to the mountains with easy access to all that gatlinburg offers.

As you enter the chalet, you'll pass through the dining area and pool table area with t.V. Moving into the living area, you'll find a cozy gas fireplace and t.V. With dvd and vcr.

Also on the main level is the full kitchen and one of the bedrooms. This downstairs bedroom features a queen bed and t.V.

Upstairs, you'll find the master bedroom/bath with queen bed and t.V. Also upstairs is another bedroom featuring a king bed and t.V.

worst night mare

I booked a reservation for this house within 6 months for my sons birthday, a family reunion after 3 years of not having my parents for christmas , thank fully they could not make it , after arrival in the spooky house , we did a walk thru. A lot of spider web , not working lights on the family room , dirty dish washer ,we found out that the last visitors were on thanksgiving , that means nobody cleaned the house since then, balcony doors were open very dirty , washer was corroded, when I called Dennis tld me that he will give me a free night , no way I was going to stay in that spooky house , I was going to go back to miami .Then he has very kind and found me 2 apartments for my stay it did not matter that I had to change apartments duringmy visits , but after 16 hours driving we decided to stay , the only bad thin is that I was charged twice the cleaning fee , even thou it wasno my fault that I had to stay in 2 different places , next time I will be more prepare.

Got in at 11pm., place had not been cleaned. Could not sleep in cabin unitl cleaners came at 330 am. Bad fish smell in fridge. No dishes cleaned, biggest mess I've ever seen. Told us we would have a free nigtht, and refund one night, but never got full refund. Worst place I've ever stayed. Cealing at bottom of stairs leaked the whole time, and fleas, bugs all over. Very nasty.

Owners response: The cleaning crew responsible for this property not being ready when the guest arrived, is no longer cleaning this cabin. The guest was compensated with a free night and a discounted cleaning fee. There was never a full refund promised. The property, since this guests visit 6 months ago, has been getting many upgrades and repairs. The roof has been replace and exterior trim paint done. The kitchen is in the process of getting a new floor. It is an older chalet that is pet friendly and priced right for a three bedroom so close to Gatlingburg. There are more repairs in progress that we hope to complete in the near future.

It only gets worse!

Well my family stayed at this cabin last year and we loved it! It was clean and perfect for us. It did have a few things that needed updated and repaired but nothing major. We stayed at this cabin during spring break this year and they had repaired nothing. Everything that was old and damaged last year, was still old and damaged. There was a water leak from the upstairs shower that leaked into the kitchen.
When we got there, it was not clean at all. Dead bugs covered the den floor. We brought our two 8 year old bassets with us and we had to put the table that was on the deck against the deck railing because the lattice had been torn up and I did not want to risk my dogs getting loose. The front door had a ton of scratches on it and well everything was simply unkept. We enjoyed our stay anyway.
Heres the worse part. I checked to see if I had got the refund back and to my surprise I saw where I was charged $450 for damages! They claim that we damaged the lattice, scratched the door, damaged the pool table(which we did not use), and damaged a pillow. They found a pillow in the trash and they assumed that it was theirs. That pillow was ours. We brought our own pillows, sheets, blankets, and towels with us! I dropped my pillow outside and threw it away! I emailed them telling them that I was not paying a dime because the damages were already there when we got there! I also informed them that I will get a lawyer if need be, and I will! I have yet to receive a response from them.
We enjoyed our stay, regardless of the filth. We will NEVER stay at this cabin again because of the owners. I refuse to pay for them to update their cabin.

Owners response: It is all about the money. When the cleaning crew arrived at this location, being the same crew that always cleans this home, they were familiar with the existing condition. They immediately called me and began sending me photos of damage, dog feces all over the deck and extensive damage throughout. Yes this is an older home and it is per friendly. It is priced accordingly. That is no excuse to treat other peoples property in such a manner. The poor review came as a result of trying to hold them accountable for the damage left by the guests two dogs who had obviously been left locked up in the house and on the deck unattended for some time.
