Licensing and Rabies Vaccination All dogs of Isle of Palms residents must have a current City of Isle of Palms dog license. Licenses may be purchased from the Isle of Palms Police Department at the Public Safety Building at 30 J.C. Long Boulevard from 8AM-5PM seven days per week. To obtain a license, owners must provide a copy of proof of a current rabies vaccination for the dog.

Our group had a total of 8 people and we stayed for a week. When we arrived the house looked "well worn" but it smelled freshly cleaned and fit all of our guests. A nice perk was the very close beach access. It wasn't until after 48 hours did we realize that the house had a serious roach problem. There was a posting made in July about the same problem. The owner replied that the house had received a Terminix treatment but in all honesty I do not see how that was possible. We ended up using a grocery store bug killer that was probably left by a previous guest. The pool man did not come to clean the pool until the day prior to our check out. When we complained that the upstairs was not not cooling (as stated in a previous posting) the owner did send someone out to evaluate the problem. The repairman asked if we interacted with the owner at all because when the repairman told the owner what the problem was and the cost to fix it, the owner told him to "duck off". This house does not have a jacuzzi as advertised. It has a jetted tub in the master bedroom. There were 3 old and dirty grills in the backyard in case you wanted to grill. I can honestly say that I would not recommend this house no matter what the cost as long as there is a roach problem... Among other things...

Owners response: I think the renters exaggerated the problem since we were booked solid all last summer and had very little problems with bugs. We have gotten rid of all roaches and have a contract with Terminix who do a monthly inspection. I personally stayed at the house in December and didn't see a single roach.

The house gets an incredible amount of use during the summer and is booked solid from May to September. At season end, we insure the house is inspected to insure everything is in working order. We will fix any problem reported to us immediately and will work with any guest that occurs any problems with the house.

This was an okay rental. It was one block from ocean. The pool was nice. The home definitely needs work. For example: screens were missing from the porch. It was billed with 3 bedrooms with queen beds, but one of the rooms was next to the AC which was on a wooden platform which caused such a loud sound, the couple could not sleep in that room. The tv's need to be upgraded as well as the cable service. Lots of Palmetto bugs. I would be hard pressed to others.

Roach Infested, dirty, unresponsive owner, BOO!

We arrived on Saturday afternoon and were pleased with the location in relation to the beach... Then the real fun begins! There was dog hair throughout the house from past vacationers, trash left inside and out, beer bottles, cigarette butts, etc. The upstairs AC didn't work. Oh, I almost forgot the best part!!! COCKROACHES!!! I have two small children who had the pleasure of waking up with roaches in their bed! I contacted the owner multiple times throughout the week and even sent pictures of the roaches... his response was nothing more than I guess I should call an exterminator (never did). No smoke alarms in the house, and don't stand still outside for more than 3 seconds or your legs will be covered with ants! If you review the guest book, every page since this owner purchased the home has been removed. BUYER BEWARE!

Owners response: I had Terminix over the house the day after your last day and they did not find any roaches or any bug problems. There may be ants in the driveway but they are black ants are are harmless. As far as the air conditioning, we had troubles with the attic fan which just went out but was replaced, allowing the house to be properly cooled. August is the hottest month and the Air conditioning is running full time so the attic fan has to be working so it can keep the house cool.
