vacation rental description
Oceanfront 2-bedroom cottage in East Boothbay with large deck overlooking water. This quintessential Maine cottage features a panoramic view of the water, of sunrises, and of the moon reflecting on the water. Built in the 1950s, this 2 bedroom cottage sleeps 6 (queen bed, full bed and futon), has a well-equipped, eat-in kitchen, 3/4 bathroom with shower, and deck which spans the entire front and overlooks the water.
The cottage has wireless internet, cable TV, DVD player, iPod station and land line telephone; parking for 2 cars, possibly 3 small ones; and a fully stocked kitchen. You are responsible to provide all your own linens
The cottage has a monitor heater which will warm the unit on those crisp mornings or evenings while brisk breezes off the water cool the heat of the day. As guests relax on the deck and listen to the waves beat against the shore, they can scan the water to see a seal swim by, watch lobstermen haul their traps or even see a bald eagle fly overhead.
East Boothbay is a quiet coastal town with a thriving art community, one of the top galleries just a short walk down the road from our cottage. It's only 10 minutes away from Boothbay Harbor where visitors can shop and enjoy many fine restaurants, fish, sail or hop a ferry to one of the islands, view the spectacular Boothbay Botanical Gardens, do lots of sightseeing, or just sit and look out at the harbor.
Nearby, within an hour's reach, you will find the "Lobster Capital of the World," Rockland, which has been designated a National Historic District as well. Rockland is home to the world-class Farnsworth Art Museum and Wyeth Center, the Maine Lighthouse Museum, and the Coastal Children's Museum. Also nearby is the not-to-be-missed Owl's Head Transportation Museum.
Enjoy all the best that Maine offers by vacationing in the midcoast. You'll see that we are active owners who take pride in sharing our vacation home with others and work hard to provide a clean, comfortable cottage with everything you need for a wonderful stay. We believe you will love it here and want to return time and again.
