The Tea House in Bremen

Hidden away on a peaceful freshwater lake just an hour from Portland, the Tea House is a magical spot for a get-away.  Two charming historic buildings that literally hang on the water's edge provide a living room, kitchen, dining room, three bedrooms and a full bath.  There's a lovely sitting porch overhanging the water, and a sunny patio with a diving board that allows plunges into 22 feet of clear water.  Fishing, swimming, kayaking, sunbathing, cooking, reading are all things guests love to do.  The owner is on premises in a recently constructed, architecturally noted house a few hundred feet away and available if needed.  But, guests have the whole waterfront to themselves where the peace and privacy mean this gorgeous spot is truly exclusive.

The Tea House comprises a fully equipped kitchen with an awesome water view, a unique octagonal diningroom, a spacious livingroom with wrap-around vintage windows and a fireplace, shade porch on the water and a sunny deck for outdoor eating and socializing.  It's all housed in an historic building with a handmade copper roof.  The converted boat house a few steps away has three bedroom areas with two double beds, a queen and a full bath.  All cotton quality bedding and towels provided.  There are two kayaks available and a small dock. 

In addition to the lake-front pursuits possible at the Tea House, nearby attractions include many of the things people love the most about Maine. This vacation cottage is just a little over an hour from Portland and within twenty or thirty minutes has access to lighthouses, quaint coastal villages, great lobster and crab shacks, hiking trails, handcrafts and shopping, museums and restaurants.

The rates listed are for rentals between June 15 and Labor Day.  The cottages are available before and after those times at a reduced rate of $175 per night or $1100 per week.
