vacation rental description
The Bird's Nest is owned and opperated by the winemaker/owners of Shalstone Vineyards. Located in a quiet lakeshore neighborhood just below the vineyard. This newly renovated cottage has a unique flare all it's own. The catherdal ceiling is spaned by a cherry log and accented with Stag Horn Sumack branches. The trim is made from wood harvested from the property, (red cedar and white oak) and has a style not often seen. All the kitchen cupboards are made from wine barrels.
The queen size bed faces a large window overlooking the lake. Lounge in bed and listen to the lapping waves or catch the morning sunrise on the opposite shore. The private stream on the north side of the cottage provides a peaceful sound and privacy. You never know when a bald Eagle will land in the big oak outside.
It's an easy 1 minute walk to our private beach. Chairs and umberlla provided. Road access if you need to bring in a small boat or kayak. No boat dock.
This is the perfect place for an artist on retreat, or a couple on honeymoon/anniversary.
