vacation rental description

The water sparkles in the morning sun. Your day awaits as you wake rested in this classic Maine cottage on the shore of Maranacook Lake. From the sitting room you see the water, but no sign of other camps. In the sleeping loft above, perhaps other family members are stirring, or maybe it’s just you and your special someone staying on this visit.

Perhaps you will breakfast on the large deck, watching the lake birds paddle about is in order. You could follow that by swimming off the dock to the swim raft anchored offshore.

Eat lunch on the house’s spacious deck or walk a short way up the back road to Readfield and enjoy a sandwich at the local market. Only slightly farther afield, you can find new American cuisine and pizza or classic New England fine dining.

The afternoon is a perfect time to explore Maranacook Lake in the camp’s canoe, or perhaps take an excursion by car. The historical attractions and retail of Maine’s capitol, Augusta are only 12 miles away. Perhaps you’ll visit the famous LL Bean store in Freeport, feel the salt spray of Maine’s famously beautiful coast near Rockland, or take in the artist-run craft shops of downtown Portland.

If the mood hits, you could pick up cooked lobster at the local seafood shop, or cook your own Down East-style dinner in the fully-equipped kitchen back at camp, and settle in for a cozy night accompanied by the calls of the loons.  Here at camp there’s no pressure, just privacy, play and possibility.
