Trout Creek is special. It's the only house you'll see situated directly on a nice, noisy trout stream. The
seclusion is wonderful! Enter the chalet from a screened porch looking down on the creek. The great room has
two sets of sliding glass doors to let the outside in, a stone fireplace for chilly nights, cathedral ceilings, TV with
DVD and VCR, and a dining area and fully equipped, upscale kitchen. Down the hall you'll find a full bathroom,
two bedrooms, and a laundry room. Go up the stairs to the loft, and enjoy the reading nook, king size bed,
another TV, complete bath with separate sinks, and a huge walk-in closet. You'll love the mountain decor.
On the deck you'll find a Weber grill, picnic table, lounge chairs, hammock, and a lovely view of the creeks with
stairs leading down to it. At the bottom of the stairs by the side of the creek is a big old fire pit! Tell stories,
roast marshmellows, have a glass of wine and enjoy the ambiance as the sparks fly up into the starry night sky
like fireflies. It's all there and waiting for you at Trout Creek.
Cabin is equipped with two televisions, three phones, a CD player, a
VCR/DVD player, movie library (over fifty films), games, books, and
a notebook with information about the area. There is central heat
and air and ceiling fans in each room. All linens(sheets and
towels) are provided. The kitchen is thoroughly equipped with
everything you'd need to produce a gourmet meal. Upscale appliances
and kitchen supplies and utensils are top notch. There's a hammock
for your enjoyment as well as a Weber grill and grilling supplies.
Just bring your food and your toothbrush!
On site, you can fish, relax in the hammock, hike the mountain in
back of the cabin (we even provide hiking sticks), or sit on the
porch and listen to the noisy creek. A short drive away are two
lakes; you could rent a pontoon boat and chill out all day! The
Cherohala Skyline and Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest provide high
vistas, waterfalls, and beautiful sights and are less than a half
hour away. Whitewater rafting, horseback riding, etc. is right down
the road. A bit further, in less than an hour, you can be in Bryson
City or Cherokee, the entrance to the Great Smokies National Park.
There's tubing in Bryson City at Deep Creek, and you can also ride
the Great Smokies Railroad.
A little further, but under two hours, you can visit Pigeon Forge
and Dollywood or tour the Biltmore House in Asheville. The location
is perfect for all the things one comes to the mountains for.
