Close to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, but a world apart from the tourist traffic and congestion, this large oceanfront home is located on West Bay at the end of a half-mile road.  There is a wild bird sanctuary on one side, with water at the front and other side.  This home is ideal for two families or one extended family, as the bedrooms are at opposite ends of the house: a master bedroom suite with bathroom and walk-in closet on one end, and two bedrooms with bathroom (and Whirlpool tub) on the other.  Full kitchen with all appliances.  Dining room, den, laundry room.  Sixty-foot deck facing ocean plus large screen porch.  Kayaking, fishing, bird-watching, and clamming right at your back door.  Our house also features a resident-pair of nesting eagles who have raised eaglets for several years in a row.  Explore Down East and nearby Acadia.  This home is located at the top of the Schoodic Peninsula, just a short drive to the Schoodic section of Acadia National Park and Winter Harbor; about 40-minutes to Bar Harbor.  This is Down East Maine the way it should be--quiet and private, yet just a short distance from the tourist activities of Bar Harbor.  Kayak on the quiet bay, or venture out into the Gulf of Maine.  Watch the eagles raise their young.  Harvest clams at low tide.  Have a glass of wine on the deck as the sun sets across the bay.
