Most reservations at The Chalet are from returning guests. We hope you will become one of them!
Nestled among the pines with views of magnificent Mount Shasta, this
charming, modern chalet lets you relax and reflect on the serenity of
the area while enjoying the comforts of home. Romantic luxury for
TWO... Yet spacious enough to sleep a large family. The unique
combination of outstanding location, exceptional layout, and owner
involvement makes The Chalet the perfect place for a mountain
get-a-away. ( But if you MUST check e-mail, hi-speed cable internet
access is provided.) We, Jack and Terri, live in the Bay Area but go
to Mount Shasta so often that we decided to buy the Chalet in 1999
for our own use and for guests. The Chalet is located three and a half
miles from central Mount Shasta City, just north of the citylimits in
a quiet residential neighborhood, recessed from the street. There is
plenty of distance (and trees!) between the neighbors. It is very
peaceful and private. There is a wonderful view of the mountain from
the deck, the dining area, and the upstairs loft area. You will find
an outdoor table (with chairs and umbrella) on the deck during the
warm weather months as well as an outdoor barbecue grill. And sleds
in winter!
The large upstairs bedroom suite has a queen bed as well as a futon that opens up to sleep two. (Note: The futon would be comfortable for 2 kids or 1 adult/1 kid but not 2 adults.) There is also a queen bed in the downstairs bedroom. All of the beds are quite comfortable. Additionally there is a reclining sofa in the living room where it is easy to fall asleep unintentionally (in front of wood burning stove) where 1-2 people could sleep. There are two full baths, one downstairs (walk-in shower) and one in the master bedroom suite (bathtub/shower combination). There is a dishwasher, a well-stocked kitchen (with toaster oven, blender, microwave, coffee maker) and a separate laundry room with washer and dryer.
All inquiries and reservations are handled directly by the owners (us!), not a property manager. Our goal is to make your stay as comfortable and
enjoyable as possible. We ENCOURAGE early arrivals and late
departures whenever the guest schedule allows for it.
We are proud of our growing number of repeat guests, and we hope you
enjoy The Chalet as much as we do. We are also dog-lovers, so you can
bring ALL members of the family! The Chalet at Mount Shasta has an
official Vacation Rental Permitgranted by Siskiyou County.

Here are some recent guest comments:
Clear communication throughout, all via e-mail, to which Jack is quite attentive. Chalet is lovingly cared for by owners and their property manager, who was a gem; called one time to check in and left us alone. Chalet is lovingly stocked with (more than) basic essentials. I hesitate to give a "perfect" review as I want it all to myself! But it's pretty close. Communicate with the owner (Jack) and you'll have no problems and a Mt. Shasta getaway to write home about! We love staying at the Chalet, it is so relaxing! And we enjoyed the new flat screen TV! Aug. 2011
I just wanted you to know how appreciative we are for all the effort you put into the chalet. The attention to detail has added to the ease and enjoyment of our stay here. You have done a great job of anticipating your guests’ needs. Thank you. Aug. 2011
Thanks for letting us stay at The Chalet which was perfect for relaxing and spending time with our family. Your vacation home is very comfy and we would love to stay again sometime. May 2011
Wonderful time in winter wonderland . On top of having tons of snow and sunshine for almost an entire week, the Chalet topped off our vacation with it's comfort, space and service. We were easily able to entertain friends for dinner. The chalet's kitchen and dining area has everything you need to cook. The kids loved all the games there! We had our first monopoly game and now we our own. There are little conveniences all over that you would put in if it was your home. And there are little notes all over the home to help you use everything. Jack made sure we had everything we needed and made the renting process very easy. Thanks Jack! March 2011
We were just at this home this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The home's owners were great communicators from the time we made the reservation, up until the day we arrived and had a personalized note about our stay. Everything was well laid out in the home with great descriptions on how to use all amenities. Their description of the home and surrounding area is very accurate and helpful. The Chalet was very clean and comfortable! If we're in the area again and need a place to stay, we will check the availability of The Chalet first! Feb. 2011
After another wonderful stay at The Chalet, it truly feels like our home-away-from-home. We have stayed in this cozy cabin four times, and it has never disappointed us. It is very clean and furnished with everything to make our stay enjoyable. The Chalet is well equipped, from the kitchen, living room, and laundry facilities to the assortment of games and books. The location of The Chalet is also good, with its feeling of being secluded, but it's close to town and the snow and ski areas, and has good , quiet streets for walking. We always seem to have the perfect mix of activities and quiet times, and we come away fom our vacation with renewed energy. Dec. 2010
