Nestled among the pines with views of magnificent Mount Shasta, this
charming, modern chalet lets you relax and reflect on the serenity of
the area while enjoying the comforts of home. Romantic luxury for
TWO... Yet spacious enough to sleep a large family. The unique
combination of outstanding location, exceptional layout, and owner
involvement makes The Chalet the perfect place for a mountain
get-a-away. ( But if you MUST check e-mail, hi-speed cable internet
access is provided.) We, Jack and Terri, live in the Bay Area but go
to Mount Shasta so often that we decided to buy the Chalet in 1999
for our own use and for guests. The Chalet is located three and a half
miles from central Mount Shasta City, just north of the citylimits in
a quiet residential neighborhood, recessed from the street. There is
plenty of distance (and trees!) between the neighbors. It is very
peaceful and private. There is a wonderful view of the mountain from
the deck, the dining area, and the upstairs loft area. You will find
an outdoor table (with chairs and umbrella) on the deck during the
warm weather months as well as an outdoor barbecue grill. And sleds
in winter!
The large master bedroom suite (upstairs) has a queen bed, futon
sleeper (for 2), walk-in closet, and full bath (with bathtub/shower).
The loft outside the bedroom looks over the living area and offers a
great reading spot, and is also perfect for viewing Mt. Shasta. The
downstairs bedroom (queen bed) is on the main level with the living
area and is nicely situated down a hallway allowing an escape to
privacy. There is and another full bath (walk-in shower) near the
bedroom. If needed, the full size sofa in the living room can also be
used for sleeping.
We pride ourselves on meeting the needs of our guests. All inquiries
and reservations are handled directly by the owners (us!), not a
property manager. Our goal is to make your stay as comfortable and
enjoyable as possible. We ENCOURAGE early arrivals and late
departures whenever the guest schedule allows for it.
We are proud of our growing number of repeat guests, and we hope you
enjoy The Chalet as much as we do. We are also dog-lovers, so you can
bring ALL members of the family! The Chalet at Mount Shasta has an
official Vacation Rental Permitgranted by Siskiyou County.
==========
Here are some unsolicited comments from some guests:
We stayed at another vacation rental since The Chalet was booked. It
was fine and served the purpose. We must say that we still like the
Chalet better. Your place is better maintained. We were more
inclined to get out and about from the other house. At the Chalet we
found that we had to force ourselves to get out because we were so
comfortable.
Yes, our trip and stay in your lovely chalet exceeded our wildest
hopes. So cozy and comfortable, warm and homey. I know you said you
had everything there, but based on past experiences, "Just in case,"
we took a lot of stuff we happily found out we didn't need.
The chalet was immaculate. And everything is so perfect in the chalet.
Even tissues in every room. Your thoughtfulness is apparent in every
room, in every small detail.
We loved the floor plan, the kitchen, the privacy, the neighborhood,
and all the information. It was by far the nicest place we've ever
stayed in Mt. Shasta. Despite the rainy, snowy weather we had, and
the fact that we never did see the mountain, we had a great time.
It was like arriving at a friend's house when we were expected and
welcome. It had everything we needed. Comfortable, good kitchen, good
flow through the house. The location (hidden behind manzanita) with
such a fabulous view of Mt. Shasta and Black Butte was hard to improve
upon.
The Chalet was by far the best (cleanest and most comfortable) place
we have stayed in Mt. Shasta. We have come on the 4th of July for 10
or more years and have stayed in various places. The Chalet is well
designed and well maintained. The location was exceptional, as we
like to be close but not right in town. Jack, your e-mails were all
helpful and prompt. Thank you for a great stay. Our little dog loved
her home for a few days too! P.S. If you ever want to sell the
Chalet, let us know!
We cannot thank you enough for the great weekend we had at Mt Shasta
and staying at The Chalet. The Chalet itself was great! It was
"stocked" in a way that made it a welcome place to return to after a
day in the snow. The accessibility of the house, including many
"extras" in the chalet, were all so much appreciated! (washer/dryer,
clean sheets, kindling and good firewood, sleds and a fully "stocked"
kitchen for cooking . . . even the dog things--dishes, towels,
cookies) Importantly, the house was very clean and welcoming.
The information you made available about Shasta and nearby areas was
also so invaluable. Once again, the care you took to offer the"little"
things was huge to us, making our visit to Shasta perfect! Thank you
so very much!
