vacation rental description

A house for those who want the best vacation home that money can
provide.
This beautiful, non-smoking home is centrally located in Hubbards,
Nova Scotia on St. Margaret's Bay, an easy 30-45 minute ride to the
ancient Halifax fortifications, Peggy's Cove preservation district,
and beautiful Mahone Bay area. St. Margaret's Bay is known
throughout the world for its picturesque fishing boats, magnificent
vistas, and quaint sandy beaches. Visit historic Lunenburg (a UNESCO
World Heritage Site) in under 45 minutes by car.
Our Nantucket shingle-style, contemporary home sits at the end of a
private drive located directly on St. Margaret's Bay. Lobster boats
sail lazily by while you relax in your private outdoor sauna and in-
ground swimming pool. Sit in your 30-foot by 30-foot living room with
giant picture windows overlooking an unobstructed view of the waters
of St. Margaret's Bay. Eat or relax on the two front patios with 20
mile views across the ocean, or simply watch your children play on
the front lawn with the ocean as a backdrop.
Your master bedroom has a picture window overlooking the blue expanse
of the ocean, with three additional private bedrooms overlooking the
ocean and lawns of the home.
Walk or drive to the nearby sand beaches along beautiful St.
Margaret's Bay, while enjoying Nova Scotia's finest seafood
restaurants in Hubbards each evening. The Shore Club, a local Nova
Scotia tradition, offers lobster dinners and weekend activities
within a short distance of the home.
Sail at the nearby St. Margaret's Bay yacht club, or ride your bike
and kayak around the nearby coves and fisherman's wharves.
When you come home from your nightly activities, sit by our giant
brick fireplace and watch the moon through the panoramic picture
windows overlooking the magnificent, unobstructed oceanfront vista.
The house is fully equipped with all amenities including phone,
TV/VCR, modern appliances (including washer/dryer), comfortable
furnishings, and lawn furniture. The home has a private, in-ground
swimming pool and separate sauna. The house is furnished with a 2
king size beds, a queen-size bed, a double-size bed and two single
beds.
We welcome you to see the best of Nova Scotia.

Family Re Union

Salty Dog (Toronto Canada)
Review submitted: April 11, 2012   Date of arrival: August 27, 2011

We had our first of many annual family reunions there were 11 of us all told and each and everyone of us truly enjoyed staying at the Cottage plenty of space for us all to enjoy each other or to share those quieter moments when required
Sitting watching the Ocean , swimming in the Pool , skimming stones over the Ocean followed by a wonderful Lobster Dinner at the Shore Club or a scenic drive along the coast to Halifax to one of the many wonderful restaurants inc The Bycycle Thief , Mauritzio's, Five Fishermen the list goes on......

Drive down the Light House route to Mahone Bay , Lunenberg , Summerville Beach all wonderful places to visit punctuated with the small restaurants for replenishments

We are returning again for our third visit rain or shine its a beautiful place to be...............

Perfect House from which to explore a Beautiful Area

Mary Anne (Houston, Texas, USA)
Review submitted: September 26, 2011   Date of arrival: September 10, 2011

Our group of 5 adults, one of whom is wheelchair-bound, just returned from our stay at this delightful house. It is quite large, but very accessible; private areas abound, and there is plenty of room for communal activities such as dining and game-playing. It is suitable for adult groups such as ours, but would also work well for groups with children, as one bedroom has a queen bed, bunk beds, and a sofa-bed all in the same room. The beautiful swimming pool and outdoor sauna would also be enjoyed by groups with children. The pictures on the web site show an accurate depiction of the house, which was quite clean and well-maintained. The furnishings are very nice but also very comfortable. Our favorite aspect of the house is its fabulous view--especially delightful if you get up early enough to enjoy the sunrise--and there are 3+ decks from which to enjoy it! We loved sitting out, having a glass of wine in the evening, and watching the boats and seabirds come in.

The owner provides guests with an extensive list of restaurants and activities in the area, and excellent directions to the house, which is located "off the beaten path". We used the house as a "jumping off" point for our Nova Scotia explorations, as it is easy to access Halifax, the South Shore communities, the Annapolis Valley, and other areas from Hubbards. Hubbards and the nearby communities of Chester, Mahone Bay, and Lunenburg have many opportunities for both fine and casual dining, as well as for outdoor activities.

We were very sorry to leave our "Nova Scotia home" and come back to reality! Everyone in our party agreed that we would definitely recommend this house to any visitors to the area. Thank you for allowing us access to your fantastic rental!

Great Cottage for Many Purposes

reelkrazy (woodstock, ontario)
Review submitted: September 12, 2010   Date of arrival: August 28, 2010

Our stay at this beautiful cottage WAS fabulous. It is exceptionally cleaning and bright. The extra bathrooms are beneficial for accomodating more than one family. Easy to find and lots to do in the area. The pool is exceptionally great. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a beautiful scenery and private escape. The owner of the cottage is very helpful and attentive. Would love to return one day. Thanks!
