Ibis Landing - The perfect getaway

Review submitted: June 17, 2014   Date of arrival: May 24, 2014

I took my children and a couple of their friends to Ibis Landing this year for Memorial Day. The house was beautiful and accommodating for all and is described perfectly. We had a week full of memories of shell collecting, walking, swimming and sunsets. We saw the most people during the holiday weekend on the beach, otherwise it is practically your own. When we needed a break from the sun, the house provides tons of activities from board games to movies to naps in a hammock. We hope to return next year for another stay in paradise and thank Jorge and Angie for letting us stay in their beautiful home.

A Hidden Gem!

Review submitted: December 1, 2013   Date of arrival: August 3, 2013

Ibis Landing truly exceeded our expectations! Don Pedro Island was just our speed when it comes to a vacation....slowwww and easy! No traffic, awesome fishing, unbelievable shark tooth hunting, spectacular sunsets, wildlife galore, uncommercialized, no crime, you just can't find this anymore! The surf fishing on the island is some of the best that I've ever experienced, and I'm an avid fisherman! Bring a cast net to catch bait fish, freeline them with 1-2 splitshots, and mono shock leader. If you want a fast paced vacation with shopping, theme parks, putt-putt courses, and lots of restaurants, this place isn't for you. If you want a laid back, relaxing, quiet vacation where you and your family can reconnect and experience a taste of what Old Florida used to be like, Ibis Landing and the island are just what the doctor ordered! I don't believe that we have ever found a vacation rental that The Wife absolutely loved the second that we walked in. That is, until we walked into Ibis Landing. This home fit our family of 5 perfectly. Angie & Jorge have truly furnished the home with anything and everything you could ever need during your stay. We brought our crock pot thinking that they surely wouldn't have one at Ibis Landing. We were mistaken! Huge DVD library and smart TV will keep the young ones entertained! However, our entertainment mainly consisted of walking the beaches, watching the dolphins swim by every morning/evening, collecting shark teeth, fishing, swimming, and watching the gopher tortoises. We named the gopher tortoise who has a burrow in the sand dunes behind the house Henrietta. Don't let the kids harass the tortoises, just observe them. Don Pedro has some of the highest nesting densities of Loggerhead Sea Turtles that I've ever seen. Please be mindful during nesting season and minimize light glare. As other reviews mention, stop by Publix on your way to the ferry. We meal planned and stocked up on everything, so we didn't have to leave the island once. We got ice cream at Coconut's Cafe and Rum Bay Restaurant, which are located within Palm Island Resort. I would highly recommend renting a golf cart during your stay.

Ibis Landing Rock's!!

Review submitted: November 8, 2013   Date of arrival: October 16, 2013

Jorge and Angie, thank you for sharing your lovely tranquil home with us!
We spent 4 peace filled days in October, the weather was perfect, and the house is very nicely decorated so that you can feel instant comfort as you enter inside and out, Ibis Landing has everything you can need for your daily living.
If you have little ones, bring water toys and floaters for their entertainment or yours.
There are no actual grocery stores so make sure to stop at the Publix before getting on the fairy and load up because the round trip for the fairy is$50.00 they do have a week pass that is well worth it for $100 or $120.00 I think it allows for 5 round trips which means you can go into town for dinner or more groceries ?
If you’re looking for some down time from your life’s daily routines and a place to meditate on the wonder of nature and a greater being as well as create everlasting memories, this is the perfect place for you.
The description and the pictures are true to the nature of the home and property.
