unforgettable Mackinaw Island. (Kids and adults love the historic
buildings, forts, and reenactments: soldiers and fur trappers,
settlers and voyageurs.)
In the winter, take advantage of the Petoskey Winter Sports Park's
sledding, ice skating (plus skate rentals), hockey rink, and ski
hill with rope tow; snowshoe and ski public trails; ski Nubs Nob and
Boyne Highlands; or curl up in front of the fire as you watch snow
fall on the bay.
Petoskey offers an array of country fairs, farmer's markets, and
festivals all year round, including the ever-popular Sidewalk Days.
And don't forget Winter Carnival!
In addition to all the kid-friendly recreational opportunities in
the area, organized activites for children abound. In the summer,
walk to playgrounds, day camp, sailing school, and tennis programs.
Rangers at Petoskey State Park give frequent kid's nature
