Vacation Rental Description

Charming, delightful, restful, refreshing--all comments that describe 
the stone and cedar-sided cottage on a 100 acre estate.  Completely 
private with great views looking across a beautiful mowed meadow, this 
cottage is perfect to relax, and unwind. Your own drive winds 
alongside the lake--always a great view! It is a short flat walk (200 
yards) to the 5 acre lake, where you can swim, fish, or enjoy a boat 
ride.  We loan floating chairs for a gentle float around the lake.  A 
paddleboat or rowboat are also available for your use.  There are 
trails through the woods, and mountain hikes, or benches around the 
lake for a relaxing time with a great book.  
The country cottage is two story, but both floors are ground level! 
There is easy access to enjoy the outdoors through sliding doors on 
either level. Level 1 has a full kitchen with table for 2 for coffee 
or menu planning, a dining area for 6, and the living room.  Large 
windows in the living room give you a constant view of the stream just 
across the gravel driveway. The second level is accessed by an open 
staircase and has a bedroom on either end of the cottage with a shared 
hall bathroom.  There is an sitting alcove just inside the upstairs 
sliding door leading out to a 12' x 27' covered porch. Mornings and 
evenings are a terrific time to be on the porch, and enjoy the 10 acre 
open meadow before you.   
    

Vacation Rental Amenities

Phone, TV, Cable, microwave, linens, dishes, coffeemaker, 
toaster/griller, washer/dryer, outdoor gas grill, outdoor chairs, and 
table, air-conditioned. 
 
Refrigerator stocking available, though stores within 5 minutes.   
 
Reservation deposit required.  Cancellation fee, if within 30 days of 
rental period. 
 
A no-smoking building. 
 
 

Activities and Attractions

Five acre lake available for fishing, swimming, canoeing.  There is a 
dock for fishing, a swimming platform, and a rowboat, and paddleboat.   
 
Numerous hiking trails, also lawn games, volleyball, croquet, horseshoes. 
 
Easy access to Rt 9, and I84 for all historic area attractions, 
including Cold Springs, West Point, the new Dia Museum, Storm King Art 
Center, 
Innisfree, and the Roosevelt and Vanderbilt homes.  

Vacation Rental Rates

Rates are $1100 for 2 people.  The cottage comfortably accomodates 4 
adults, and up to 6 people with the weekly rate of $1200.  Weekends, 
minimum 2 nights (holidays, 3 nights) are available.   We are pleased 
to discuss seasonal or temporary assignment discounts.
