Charming 1 bed, 1 bath cottage in Hudson Valley. Located just 90
miles north of NYC, the town of Esopus is 10 minutes south of
Kingston and 10 minutes east of New Paltz. If you are looking for
relaxation our place is perfectly situated on 4.5 acres with expansive
valley views from the screened-in porch.


Just some other things to mention about the cottage:
- we are located right on Shaupeneak Ridge which is a 570 acre park
that has great hiking and bird watching.
- we are close to Kingston, which has a wonderful farmers market
every Saturday in the summer.
- we are a short 20 minute drive across the river to Rhinebeck, Red
Hook and and 45 minutes from Hudson �all of which are popular for
antique shopping and restaurants.
- the Catskill Mountains, Mohonk Preserve, Minnewaska State Park are
all a short ride from the house.

-The cottage is fully furnished and stocked with all that you would
need to be comfortable (kitchen supplies, linens, etc.).
-We have a television with cable, a dvd player for movie rentals and
wireless internet service.
-There is an outdoor grill for barbequeing.

The area is perfect for outdoor activities from hiking and biking to
mountain biking or kayaking. There is also extensive antiquing and
restaurants in the area.

Nice cottage with a view

The property is very nice, somewhat private, and has a beautiful view. It is very nicely furnished, has a patio with a hammock and a great screen porch. It is close to New Paltz (a fun small town) and the Hudson river, so there is plenty to do and see.

There are train tracks very close to the property and when the train comes every few hours; you'll know it!

If you are planning on staying during warm weather, you may want to bring a fan as the main floor doesn't not have central air.

Trash is not picked up so you need to drive a few miles down the road and pay to get rid of it.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, sight seeing, romantic getaway

We made the right choice.

We drove 600 miles from Michigan to stay here for the week and visit the Hudson River Valley. We were provided detailed instructions prior to our arrival via email about how to get to the cottage, where things were and how to use them. The owners were also good about communicating what was in the area to visit and where to eat and shop.

The cottage was perfect for my wife and myself - very private, quiet and well equipped. It was great in the evenings and the mornings to just relax out on the screened in porch with a beverage of choice and view the valley. The property was clean and well maintained. The owner checked in with us via email to see how things were going mid-week and again provided numbers to contact them if any problems arose.

We visited many places: Sleepy Hollow Cemetery tour (at night!),
town of New Paultz (stop at The Cheese Plate), Mohonk Mountain House (spectacular), CIA Culinary Institute of America (loosen your belt), Tubing down Esopus Creek (It's not a creek!), town of Rhinebeck, Woodstock, Hudson (antiques galore), Olana mansion, West Point (beautiful), Lyndhurst mansion, and a river boat tour out of Kingston (some great sights from the water).

The cottage was a great jumping off point for all these destinations as it was centrally located.

I would highly recommend this place to a friend or a relative, it was a jewel.

Wonderful getaway place

it starts with a beautiful view from the terrace, and when you step in you feel love and good taste of the home owners who thought out every little detail inside. The house holds you comfortable and cozy at every corner or it. The rear patio is extremely private facing the forest on a slope. The area around is a biking mecca and a hiker's refuge.
On the third day you stop noticing the railroad train's whistles and at the end of your stay you wish to come back again.

Recommended for: families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway
