Vacation Rental Description

Sin Duda Villas is an intimate and adventurous little hotel, 
a "hotelito" like an Inn, with combinations of fun art, nature and
good architecture.  Designed by its architect-owner, you will live
beach-side on white sand in rustic elegance.  Think "green" we're
energized by 24 hr solar power & collect our fresh-water in
underground cisterns for showers, bathrooms and dishes. 

We're far-far beyond the "madding crowd," a 5-hour drive past Cancun
and other large hotels.  This is an idyllic and extraordinary 
vacation place, remote and intimate with mesmerizing ambiance, for
those who are most particular.  Our guests, our friends return year
after year!

Each room has combinations of hand-carved furniture, manipulated &
original art; each unit has balcony, deck or private patio.  Beds
fragrant with fresh sunshine, all cotton linens on comfy beds, daily
housekeeping and home-made breakfast. 

Our 3 private "double" rooms(#2/#4/#5)have 24-hour access and use of
the Mayan "great-room," this is Robert's kitchen design patterned
after a traditional Mayan home with vaulted ceiling and carved
ceremonial poles for a cozy atmosphere.  

The Mayan great room is a living-room & main part of our large
library--over 1500 books; there's hand-done wicker furniture,
interesting art pieces, pinatas, and gifts from a Mayan elder, you'll
feel very welcomed, well fed, and well read. 

We have space for ONLY 2 or 3 families (dependent upon availability).
We are small, 6 rooms for perhaps 16-20 people.  And frequently 
booked in advance, so a family of 8 can put us over our limit.

Swimming & Snorkeling, just outside the door of
your room--it's perfect.  Put on your fins and masks less than 100 
feet from our white-sand beach to myriad coral heads.  We're now a 
designated Marine Park so the giant aquarium created by our 
protected reef is teeming with fish.  

World class diving at one of three local dive shops.  Birding is
extraordinary, beneath the mangroves in hidden river channels behind
Sin Duda; Flyfish the Flats of Chetumal Bay.  Adventure at Mayan ruins
within two hours' drive, spend an island day in Belize.  

At night, sit in front of a beach fire, climb to one of our soaring
rooftop decks to find wondrous views of the constellations with Robert
as a learned lecturer; or go night snorkeling to see a different world
in the sea.

We're family and pet-friendly, with references galore and an 
informative website of delightt. Without doubt, we hope you're among

~Birds, fish and animals populate the beach, jungle and large salt 
water lagoon immediately inland from Sin Duda. Walk near the jungle 
along the shore. Hush, you may see hermit and blue land crabs, black 
foxes, butterflies, noisy chachalacas, hummingbirds, tapir, antbear, 
jaguar, peccari, flocks of green parrots, fox, egrets, pelicans and 
heron 2 meters tall.

~Area DayTrips within 2-3 hours: 
     Imagine yourself at the foot of an ancient pyramids jutting 
through sylvan "Forests of the Kings:" 
- Kohunlich Archeologica, pastoral selva Masks of the Sun God. 
- Dzibanche, five miles from Kohunlich, visit the newly-excavated 
pyramids. 
- Calakmul Biosphere, within 60 miles, begins the ancient heart of 
Maya culture at Calakmul; we can arrange for lodging for you. 
- Belize: Just across the border from our state's capital city of
Chetumal, visit excellent sites in the dense jungles of Belize:
Lamanai -- Altun Ha. 

~Boating Daytrips: 
- Chinchorro Banks-- 90 minutes off the coast nearly in front of Sin 
Duda Villas. This is the largest coral atoll in Mexico; a necklace 
of coral enclosing 240 square miles of shallow -to- 40 feet depth; near
Chinchorro's main atoll are dozens of premier dive sites and 600-foot
walls. 
- Belize to Hol Chan Preserve, swim with magnificent fish. 
- In magnificent Bahia de Chetumal, visit Bird Island, picnic lunch 
and snorkeling.
