Connor Point Cottage-Woodland/Shorefront in Southwest Harbor

Nestled in the midst of Acadia National Park is Connor Point Cottage.  As you walk in the door, this quaint woodlands cottage greets you with the smiles of fresh wildflowers, the crackling of a roaring fire (with only a mere strike of a match), and if you are very observant Bambi and friends may be munching outside of any of the windows.  Once settled and ready to explore, bring or rent kayaks as you are only two minutes from the pier and float where you can paddle up Somes Sound, the only fjord in North America.  If hiking is your preference, Connor Point Cottage is within walking distance to Valley cove where you can enjoy spectacular views of Somes Sound as you hike over Flying Mountain.  Only five minutes away is the town of Southwest Harbor (restaurants, shopping, fishing, etc.) and a twenty to thirty minute drive takes you to Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mountain, and much much more.It is truly back to the basics at this rustic, yet extremely inviting, cottage in the woods (don’t be surprised to wake up to deer out your windows). Yet, it is only 100 feet to a short path that leads you directly to the pier and float (water access for kayaks, boats, etc.). Walk a few steps farther and you are on Conner Point with views of Somes Sound, the Eastern Way and the Western Way. Absolutely breathtaking!!! Located off Fernald Point Road, this cottage is within walking distance of hiking trails in Acadia National Park, 5 minutes from the town of Southwest Harbor (restaurants, shopping, etc.), and approximately 30 minutes from Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mountain, and much, much more.

The cottage is quite spacious with a sky-lit, cathedral ceiling living room with fireplace (wood provided), pull-out queen sofa, dining room, kitchen, and pantry. Sleeping accommodations are one large bedroom with two ¾ beds and one double bed, and another smaller bedroom with two twin beds. Bathroom accommodations include a ½ bath off the small bedroom, and a full bath with a large claw-foot tub off the large bedroom (perfect for a relaxing bath). The only shower accommodations are outside (we knew you would not believe this one). Yes, a hot water enclosed shower is just out the dining room door. Everyone truly loves it! Some guests take two showers a day... below blue skies and luscious foliage or beneath the stars, whichever you prefer.

Ample parking space is provided, and a lit short path to the cottage. There are no laundry
facilities, but a full-service or a self-service laundromat is only five minutes away. Wireless internet 'hotspots' are available in town.

Owners supply bath towels, hand towels and face cloths. Plates, bowls, spoons, forks, knives, cups, toilet paper and paper towels are supplied by the owners. Cooking supplies (pots, pans and utensils) are also supplied by the owners. Owners supply sheets, blankets, and pillows. Television (only for viewing DVDs), stove top, oven, microwave, refrigerator with icemaker, fans, front porch with adirondack and rocking chairs, and a propane grill. Portable beach chairs are available to be used on the pier and point. Also, there is a firepit on the point for bonfires, roasting hotdogs, and fixing smores. All of this combines to create a “little spot of heaven”.
