Wildwood Square Townhomes- Builder Maintained Luxury Units in Wildwood

Great Family Vacation!!!!

My family and I have just returned from our Wildwood vacation. The only bad part of the townhouse is leaving!!! This was a perfect family spot. We had 4 young kids, a 21 year old, my wife and I, my mother, father and sister. We had plenty of room and did not have to be on top of each other. The walk to the beach and boardwalk was no problem even for the very little ones. My father had a bit of an issue with the walk but we would drop him off and run the car back to the house. We a HUGE 3 car garage you do not have to worry about losing your spot. Location is also convenient to groceries, drug store, WaWa, restaurants, everything you need. Home is very well appointed and the pool and grill area was outstanding. We are all already checking our calendars to see what week we are going to return. Just outstanding!!!

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Very Disappointed

My experience with renting was not a great one.

First - I was told by Tom (the leasing agent) that I would have 4 bedrooms (1 king, 2 queens & 2 twins). The unit advertised on the vacation rentals site that I went through says it sleeps up to 10 (with a pull out sofa). We only had 2 queens, 1 full and 2 twins - NO pull out sofa.

Second - The lease says to meet at the unit at 3:30pm. We arrived in Wildwood early (about 1 PM) and decided to try and figure out where our unit was. We had NO WAY to get into the complex. I called twice before I reached Tom and he gave me someone else in the leasing office's phone number as well as the gate code to get into the complex. He told us to drive over as the owner of the unit is usually there.

We arrived at the unit and rang the bell - no answer. I called Alva (the person Tom told me to contact in case of a problem) and she advised me that the unit was for sale and I should contact the realtor. She also said that I should NOT tell the realtor that she told us to call him. She then proceeded to say that she didn't know what to do if I couldn't reach the unit owner as she was "Trying to do someone a favor by renting their unit".

We then called the realtor who did finally reach the unit owner and we were told to come back in about a 1/2 hour. So we did and again rang the bell to no answer. The unit owner did finally reach me by phone and told me she was there the whole time but the doorbell didn't work.

Once we finally got inside the unit it was large (plenty of room) aside from the issue with the bed sizes and no pull out couch. As our week progressed we did find many issues with the unit itself (the vent on the microwave was broken and fell on our head when we opened the microwave door; the vacuum cleaner was clogged all the way through and we spent at least 1/2 hour cleaning it out; dirty dishes were left in the dishwasher; the unit was not "professionally decorated" as described in the ad). The unit owner also asked us to drive her to the bus stop so she wouldn't miss her bus - after yelling at us for being late.

OVERALL: It didn't feel like a beachy townhouse. The trouble with getting into the unit was frustrating. The walk to the beach was about 3 blocks but they were 3 VERY LONG blocks.

I would never rent from this place again.
