A few comments from our recent guests:
"After vacationing at various places on Long Lake for 41 years, my family found Loon Lodge to be our favorite spot."
"Had a great time!!! Caught 17 walleye, 3 nice pike and the largest smallmouth bass I've ever caught (almost 5 pounds!!). Great drives every day, awesome campfires and just all in all a great time."
"A week of relaxation and reconnection. We feel lucky to be able to visit this spot."
"I can't remember when we have been able to completely relax this much on a vacation."
"This is the fifth year in a row that my family has rented a cabin. Each year we pick a different Michigan location. Everyone agreed that this was the best cabin ever. It was perfect."
Loon Lodge is a beautiful lakefront home on Long Lake, one of the most popular lakes in northern Michigan. The house is a remarkably secluded retreat; the property has more than 200 feet of frontage on the lake and the next closest house is more than 100 yards away, hidden by trees.
The house is directly on the lake; there is lovely swimming about fifteen feet from the house. The water is clear, and the bottom is a mix of sand and small rocks.
The house has a dock and a deck that looks over the lake. There is a mooring for your boat, and we provide a canoe and small dingy for you to use. You can explore the islands in the lake, watch the sunset from the deck or dock and swim whenever you want. There is also a small beach, the size of which varies with the lake's water level.
Loon Lodge has two large bedrooms and two baths, and comfortably sleeps up to 8. The house has new beds and linens, a gas grill, a new TV and DVD. Loon Lodge also has a new furnace and new washer and dryer.
Traverse City is close, just 15 minutes away. There are public tennis courts just down the street, and a public boat launch across the lake.

activities and attractions in Traverse City Michigan
There is almost too much to do in a week. You can swim in the clear waters of Long Lake, hike through the woods, relax on the deck or dock or beach, or paddle around the lake in the canoe. The five islands in Long Lake are all public; they are great for exploring and picnics.
If you bring your own boat and launch it at the nearby public boat ramp, you can waterski or sail; Long Lake is a wonderful lake for water sports.
There are all sorts of activities in the area. You can explore the Sleeping Bear Dunes, canoe on the Platte, Boardman or Crystal Rivers, visit bustling Traverse City, shop at the outlets, go to concerts at Interlochen Music Camp, visit the local wineries and bicycle around the area.
This is a wonderful house for families and couples.
