Vacation Rental Description

Located at 3500 feet, just over the crest from the Blue Ridge 
Parkway ans only 1/2 mile north of The Little Switzerland Inn and 
The Chalet Restaurant, you'll find The Hide-A-Way and one of the 
most serene, awe-inspiring views available in the Blue Ridge 
Mountains.

This house, built in 1935 during the construction of the Blue Ridge 
Parkway, offers expansive flagstone walkways and patio together with 
flagstone retaining walls and native stone fireplace.  The grounds 
have been tastefully landscaped with a wide variety of colorful 
flowers and blooming plants.

The Hide-A-Way has been beautifully enlarged and carefully 
maintained by the owners through the years, providing what is now a 
comfortable, relaxing, scenic, change of pace retreat up in the 
mountains - yet conveniently located close to great restaurants, 
entertainment attractions, ski slopes and historic attractions, some 
of the most scenic overlooks on the east coast - and within 10 
minutes of shopping, fine dining, a super Wal-Mart and even a 
hospital.

Vacation Rental Amenities

The Hide-A-Way features sleeping accommodations for six, two 
bedrooms and a queen-size sleeper sofa.  The master bedroom suite 
features a king-size bed and private bathroom.  The Hide-A-Way's hot 
water is supplied by a state-of-the-art instant gas water heater.  
The dining area, with its bay window overlooking the flagstone patio 
is adjacent to the full kitchen complete with microwave, dishwasher 
and many small appliances.  The great room features a large native 
stone fireplace with a buck stove gas fireplace insert and leather 
rocker recliners, swivel gliders, plush sofas, telephone service 
(featuring unlimited domestic long distance calling).  Dishes, 
linen, pillows, towels, pots and pans are all in place for your use 
and enjoyment.  Spacious picture windows provide a panoramic view of 
the Blue Ridge Mountains.  The covered wooden porch with its swing 
along with the wrap-around deck and spacious flagstone patio enable 
quiet, relaxing enjoyment of the mountain air while gazing at the 
views.  The Hide-A-Way's garage houses both a washer & dryer and a 
large portable gas grill.  Even if it rains, Direct TV, VCR and DVD 
players provide for your choice entertainment while the mountainside 
is being refreshed. 

Activities and Attractions

The Hide-A-Way is centrally located between Asheville and Boone 
along the picturesque Blue Ridge Parkway.  A 30 minute drive brings 
you to many features such as, The Biltmore Estate and Winery with 
its Italian and English gardens and rose garden with over 3000 
plants, the Grove Park Inn, Thomas Wolfe's boyhood home, Lake Lure 
and Chimney Rock, the Museum of North Carolina Minerals, the Parkway 
Playhouse, Blowing Rock where they claim snow falls up instead of 
down, Mount Mitchell (the highest point east of the Mississippi 
River at 6,684 feet), the water falls at Crabtree Meadows and the 
two-level falls of Linville Falls & Caverns, Tweetsie Railroad 
(North Carolina's original theme park), Grandfather Mountain (& the 
mile high swinging bridge), the Penland School of Crafts, the Folk 
Art Center, the Orchards at Altapas, the ski slopes of Beech & Sugar 
Mountain, golf courses, hunting, fishing, hiking, rafting, shopping, 
mining, shows and the most spectacular views of the Blue Ridge 
Mountains.

Vacation Rental Rates

Rates are:  $750 - $850 per week.
            $500 - $600 per weekend - Friday thru Sunday.
