Vacation Rental Description

"Fishway" is surrounded by a forest of pines and birch, serenaded by 
a babbling brook and less than 30 steps to Long Pond. A very private
location yet just minutes to the island villages of Bar Harbor,
Southwest Harbor, Northeast Harbor and Bass Harbor. Nature abounds
with the sounds of loons on the lake, eagle sightings overhead and 
the occasional otter playtimes in the brook.
The atmosphere at "Fishway" is comfortable and relaxed with windows
all around bringing the outdoors inside. Accommodates up to 6 with a
living room, bedroom and bath on each floor, plus futon on 1st floor.
The spacious south-facing deck accessable via the dining room and
enclosed sun porch on the 2nd floor (which overlooks the brook)
provides the perfect place for family & friends to enjoy the "Maine
Way of Life"!

Vacation Rental Amenities

"Fishway" amenities include: Large, 2nd floor deck with gas grill, 
gas lobster cooker & table and chairs for 6, 2nd floor living room 
has wood-burning fireplace, 2nd floor bedroom & sun porch each have 
gas (Jotel) fireplaces, fully equipped kitchen has two skylights,
dishwasher, gas cooktop, double ovens (each conventional and one with
convection), microwave, coffee maker, toaster, washer and dryer. 
Other amenities include Satellite TV, VCR/DVD/CD, telephone, large
selection of books, all bed & bath linens and Old Town canoe 
w/paddles & life vests.

Completely Non-Smoking. No Pets Allowed.

Activities and Attractions

Enjoy relaxing on the deck, swimming and canoeing on Long Pond and
walking in the surrounding woods. "Fishway" is just minutes by car
to Acadia National Park with miles of hiking trails and carriage 
roads. Shops, restaurants, galleries, grocery stores and lake & 
ocean-related activities (sunset cruises, whale watches, nature 
cruises, fishing)are nearby - 15 minutes to Bar Harbor, 10 minutes 
to Southwest Harbor & Bass Harbor and 20 minutes to Northeast 
Harbor. Convenience store & gas station less than 5 minutes away in 
Somesville.

Vacation Rental Rates

June - $1500-$1700/week, July - $1700-$1800/week, August -
$1800/week, September & October - $1500-$1600/week
Weekly rate is for up to 6 persons and excludes taxes (7%) and
