(Photos above show the location of Traders' Haven at the red dot and
the west of the 50'x10'porch-livingroom) (Photos below show the east
end of this porch and 5 bedrooms)

Traders' Haven is a spacious 5 bedroom (8 Beds) home occupying the
entire second floor of the Mountcastles' building on Historic 8th
Avenue, Pass-a-grille, St. Pete Beach. The back deck overlooks a
Gazeebo in a Tropical Garden full of jasmine and lush tropical
plants. We have placed a giant (8ft diameter) Jacuzzi here for the
enjoyment of our guests.

This unique home, built in the 1920's, is bright and airy with high
ceilings, wood floors and windows all around. We have views of both
the sunrise and sunset from long breezy porch the spans the entire
south side of this home from East to West. Oriental rugs, wood
floors, antiques and folk art from all continents of the world add
to the ambience. The Mountcastles have operated a trading company
importing folk art for twenty years and are currently working
overseas.

Accommodations: 5 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen
and a kitchenette, an enclosed air-conditioned porch for
lounging, dining and watching sunrises and sunsets, covering the
entire south face of the building, and a spacious open deck on the
north side overlooking the Tropical Garden, Gazebo and Jacuzzi.

Enjoy great sunrises and sunsets while dining on our porch!
(50x10foot) The Gulf of Mexico is just a few steps to the west, and
Boca Ciega Bay with the Inter-coastal Waterway is just a few steps
to the east --water at each end of our short block.

Trader's Haven enjoys a great central location! Historic 8th Avenue,
once listed in Ripley's as the shortest main street in America,
offers several very unique galleries and boutiques, including
Mountcastle International Trading, Co., Ltd. on the ground floor of
the Mountcastle building. The Merry Pier is at the east end of the
street offering fishing, tackle and bait, wave-runners, sunset
cruises, deep sea fishing trips, and a boat shuttle to Shell Island.
The quaint Seahorse,Hurricane, Fish House and Asado Restaurants are
all on the block. There is a locally famous beach bar down the
street and a disco at the Hurricane. Parks and childrens'
playgrounds are one block and five blocks away.

Our idea of a great day starts with long dawn walk on the beach to
watch the light change, smell the sea and, perhaps, watch the
dolphins feed. Then return to 8th Avenue to the quaint Seahorse
Restaurant (or Hurricane or beachside concession) for breakfast...
morning paper, seagulls screaming, and salt air - cannot be beat!! A
lazy day on the beach is always a delight. An afternoon nap in the
shade on the deck is truly relaxing. Walking back down the block to
the beach for another fabulous sunset is a local tradition. A
romantic dinner on the porch or deck or an evening out at one of the
fine seafood restaurants on our block with a promenade along the bay
completes a great vacation day. Why drive anywhere, when you can
have one perfect day after another right there on Pass-a-Grille??!!

interesting shops (including ours - Mountcastle International

Fort DeSoto National Park, with beaches consistently rated among
the ‘Top Ten’ in the US, is immediately south of our

But, again, why drive anywhere? - when you can have one perfect day

miss our, in many ways, idyllic island!
