Vacation Rental Description

The Walnut Grove Cottage was built in 1910 and has been impeccably 
restored with original wainscoting, wood trim and floors.  It has an 
Asian decor, reflecting the historical location and is filled with 
many personal design touches of the period.  The Cottage is now a 
treasured vacation home for family and guests to enjoy.

The Walnut Grove Cottage is located in the historic Chinese and 
Japanese section of Walnut Grove, population 910.  In this lovely, 
unique California Delta town, the Cottage is only 2 blocks from the 
Walnut Grove Public Dock and one mile from the historic Chinese town 
of Locke. One can walk to the corner grocery store, pizza 
parlour, day spa, and many great restaurants and shops.

This quaint and cozy cottage is 30 minutes away from the California 
capitol of Sacramento and one hour and a half from San Francisco.  

Limitations:  We regret the guest cottage is not handicapped 
accessible. Only outdoor smoking is allowed on the side or upstairs 
deck areas. As in the Asian custom, residents are requested to remove 
their shoes to protect the soft wood floors (slippers are provided). 
The cottage is to be used only by registered residents and cannot be 
used for entertainment purposes, parties or receptions.

Activities and Attractions

Walnut Grove is located in the heart of the California Delta, just 
off I-5, between Sacramento and Stocton.  It is noted for great water 
skiing, fishing, and bird watching.  The town is on the Sacramento 
River and a half mile from the Mokelumne River.   This wonderful 
recreation area is a place to relax and enjoy the scenic beauty of 
the Delta, visit art galleries, shops, museums and dine at the many 
notable restaurants (all within walking distance).
