This is a quiet, beautiful, no-smoking, log home on Mountain Island
Lake (62 miles of shoreline) with a breathtaking view of the water
and Latta Plantation nature preserve.
This home, built in 2002, has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a front
family/dining room looking out over the water, and a fully stocked
kitchen. The deck overlooks the water
and dock for your boat.
Just a short drive from downtown Charlotte and the races.
The local area has restaurants and activities for your pleasure.

Covered front porch with porch swing. Back deck has a gas grill and
leads to huge decorative stamped concrete patio. Back yard has porch
swing looking out over the lake. Dock has a kid's spring-board for
jumping into the water (no diving) and a boat slip. Neck road public
boat launch is 1 mile away.

Fully stocked kitchen includes a dishwasher and microwave. Family
room has a wood burning fireplace, two ceiling fans, TV w/DVD-VHS
player, and stereo with 5 CD disc changer. Central air and gas heat,
on-demand hot water heater.
Master loft bedroom has a ceiling fan, Queen bed, twin bed, private
bath, and a view of the lake.
Downstairs bedroom has a ceiling fan, bunkbed (full on bottom, twin
on top), a pull-out trundle twin bed and full bath with shower and
jacuzzi tub.
5.2 miles to major grocery chain(s), various restaurants, and a
new hospital.

Mountain Island lake is a hidden gem in Charlotte. As the water
supply for Charlotte, and home to multiple nature preserves, it
enjoys extra vigilance in keeping it clean. It is quieter and closer
to the city than any other lake in Charlotte yet still has 62 miles
of waterfront for fishing and boating activities (ski, kayak, sail,
jet-ski). It has been historically a fisherman's dream (A boat slip
is included with the rental).

1.5 miles: Rural Hill Farm was the historic homestead of Major John
and Violet (Wilson) Davidson. As a patriot of the
American Revolution, John Davidson risked life and
property to support American independence. The 265 acre
remnant preserves magnificent rural vistas and offers
special events, walking trails, self guided tours and,
with reservations, wagon rides and guided tours eaturing
plantation home ruins, smoke house, ash house, granary,
the original one-room 1890's school house, the 20th
century farm house, and the Rural Hill Burying Ground.
2.3 miles: Historic Latta Plantation was a successful cotton
plantation, and is now a living history farm. Experience
what life was like for planters, yeoman farmers, and
slaves of the North Carolina backcountry in the early
19th century.
2.3 miles: Carolina Raptor Center is dedicated to environmental
education and the conservation of birds of prey through
public education, the rehabilitation of injured, and
orphaned raptors and research.
