Santa Barbara is similar in climate to the Mediterranean areas of
Italy and France - absolutely delightful year round. The small city
offers everything; historic buildings, famous and infamous
restaurants, lovely botanical gardens and a fun zoo. There are many
scenic trails, drives and walks. The harbor offers sailing,
kayaking, whale watching, deep sea fishing as well as pier and shore
fishing. One can go horse back riding on the beach, swim, golf on
various courses and play tennis nearby. Enjoy the exciting game of
polo and horse shows in addition to other sporting events.
Santa Barbara abounds with an array of art and cultural events to
entertain you whether it is theatre, music, ballet or the symphony.
Art galleries and art museums abound. Meet the artists at weekly
open house art walks.
Fabulous food and flowers surround you whether at the twice weekly
farmers market, buying fresh sea food directly from the boats or
dining at five star restaurants. Your palette and senses will be
constantly stimulated and satisfied.
Casa Alisos is a cozy place to base out of whether you are exploring
all that Santa Barbara has to offer or venturing further. L.A. is
just 90 miles south. Take the train to L.A. for the day from Santa
Barbara’s historic railroad station.
