activities and attractions in Harsens Island Michigan
Sunning, swimming, relaxing, fishing, boating, shopping, relaxing.
Golf and tennis. Miniature golf, bowling, horseback riding, more
golf, and more shopping nearby.
In hunting season, duck, goose, and deer.
Harsen's Island has no motels or hotels, and very few vacation
rentals, so do not expect a strip of tourist attractions, as the
population is about one third residents, and two thirds seasonal
residents. Do expect a friendly small town attitude, and a safe,
clean, and friendly environment to spend some time with your friends
and family-its plenty close enough to entertain day visitors, and
this
place is large enough to accommodate plenty of overnight guests.
There are three markets and a couple of bar/restaurants on the
island.
It is, for the most part, pretty quiet.
When you wake up in the morning and realize that you have full
control
of your very own spacious, modern, clean, and private vacation home,
you will likely pinch yourself to make sure you are not dreaming.
Grab a cup of coffee and take a walk down your dock, greeted by the
swans, ducks, and egrets likewise enjoying the calm clear blue waters
of the North Channel of the St. Clair River. Have a seat at the
patio
on the end of the dock, or lie in the in the hammock while you map
out your day.
Join the family for a quick breakfast on the patio, or in the air
conditioned comfort of the summer residence. Take a ride to one of
the markets for a morning paper.
Later, dive into the clear blue waters at the end of the dock for a
refreshing swim. Marvel at the water quality, the sandy bottom,
consider some snorkeling with the kids. Bring a boat? Take a ride
and get lunch at one of the waterfront restaurants. Do some tubing
in
one of the sheltered bays in the Flats.
Grab the fishing poles-pike and panfish off the dock, then use the
fishing boat to take a trip out to the Channel and bounce the bottom
for walleye.
Take a bike ride with the kids to the park, play some tennis, let
them
on the swingsets for a bit, maybe take a ride into town, enjoy some
of
the little shops, check out a book from the library if you cannot
find
anything you like at the house.
Think about dinner-go out or grille something quick?
Later, its roasting marshmallows and having a few cold ones around
the
campfire.
Tomorrow, do it all over again.
