vacation rental description

Welcome to The Waterside Cottage,
Spacious, airy and relaxing 2 bedroom cottage on Harness Creek, just 5
minutes to the Naval Academy and 30 minutes to DC or Baltimore. The
Waterside Cottage is ideally situated to unwind from urban stress, yet
close enough to enjoy the great galleries, memorials and bountiful
history in the region. Or, you could just lounge around reading books,
playing board games and rejuvenate in the tranquility.

Relax on the patio in adirondack chairs, sipping your morning coffee
or enjoying a sunset glass of wine, watching the great heron that
lives here or the foxes across the creek that play at the waters edge.

This is a very quiet, rural neighborhood 3 miles and 5 minutes from
historic Annapolis. There is even a vineyard around the corner.
Harness Creek Rd was described by Washingtonian Magazine as one of
Maryland's "Streets of Gold". We agree ... we live next door!

The Cottage has hardwood floors and is fully furnished in a
comfortable "Cottage Living" style. Sleep in the luxurious comfort of
high-thread count linens, down pillows and duvets. Bathe with handmade
soaps by a local purveyor and soft organic towels. There are also
beach towels for those dips in the creek. The kitchen is fully-stocked
with all number of gadgets, perfect for your crab feast, that
Chesapeake picnic or a romantic dinner.

Over the years, the Cottage has had a fair share of upgrades yet she
still retains the elusive character of yesteryear. Come ... unwind ...
melt into cozy, lazy days.

Comfortable and a lovely view

David (Fairhope, AL)
Review submitted: November 1, 2012   Date of arrival: October 8, 2012

Waterside Cottage was as nice or better than described. Recent upgrades enhanced the living area and kitchen. Owners were very kind and cooperative. The cottage with its delightful view of Harness Creek, boats, and birds was the perfect location for us to spend three weeks in Annapolis near our two little grandchildren. They enjoyed playing in the yard and walking out on the dock when they came to visit us. Living and dining areas were spacious and comfortable. Master bedroom was comfortable, though could have had more storage space for clothes (due to our lengthy visit). Overall, everything was clean, and the cottage was equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We would recommend it to friends and would rent it again in the future.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: Thank you, David, for your thoughtful review. It is so exciting for us to hear such positive feedback! I think you captured the experience of living at the Cottage most accurately. We are continuing the renovation projects over the winter: including the waterside sun porch, the kitchen (even more); and the second bedroom. We took your comments about the master bedroom closet to heart and have replaced the dressing table with a fully-fledged dresser for drawer space. The shelves in the closet are now removable to provide more hanging space when needed. Occasionally, we do have families stay for extended times and we so appreciate being able to make everyone's stay more comfortable. Thank you!

We are delighted that you enjoyed visit and hope very much to see you when you come to Annapolis again. Thank you! Theresa & John

Lovely Weekend

Nancy Wo (Gaithersburg, MD)
Review submitted: September 7, 2012   Date of arrival: September 1, 2012

My husband and I had a lovely and relaxing weekend at the Waterside Cottage. The cottage was bright and cheerful with a great view of Harness Creek. We made good use of the pier with the two adirondack chairs for happy hour and lunch. It's proximaty to good restaurants and Quiet Waters Park was a plus
Thank you John and Theresa.

Wonderful Wildlife

Review submitted: July 9, 2010   Date of arrival: August 16, 2009

We had a lovely time here - thank you for all you did to make our stay comfortable. The wildlife was especially wonderful to watch and listen to. I loved the blue heron who seems to be your mascot. Be well, and we hope you enjoy what's left of the summer. Julia
