The Mayan Palace in Puerto Vallarta is in the Marina District of Puerto Vallarta (best district in town), is adjacent to and shares the same beach as the Regina Westin, and is right across the street from dozens of excellent restaurants, evening strolls, and evening entertainment located along the boardwalk in the Marina. Downtown PV is just a short taxi or bus ride away. We had the most fantastic time when we stayed here in February, 2009 and can highly recommend it for convenience and fun at its best!

Mayan Palace Nuevo Vallarta is located on over 1 mile of undeveloped beach and enjoys over 250 acres, including its own golf course - a great place to get away from it all while enjoying the amenities of a full-service resort in the Puerto Vallarta area.  It has its own golf course, one of the largest pools anywhere, and is traversed by its own waterways and lagoon. Kayaks are available for your enjoyment on the canals and lagoon. Or simply spend many hours walking its paths and over 1 mile of spectacular undeveloped beach (Puerto Vallarta hotels mostly have small beaches - good for the suntan but not useful for a long, quiet walk on the beach). This is one resort where there's plenty of room to just quietly relax on the beach, away from the crowds found so often at other resorts.

The food at this resort is outstanding, with multiple restaurants (6 if you count the on-site restaurants at this hotel as well as the adjacent Grand Mayan, the Mayan Golf Course, and the nearby Mayan Sea Garden Hotel). The Bakal restaurant has just recently opened and serves varied selections in a visually stunning facility with white marble flooring, soaring Mayan ceiling, and Latin ambience. The resort is not all-inclusive, but the buffet is reasonably priced, similar to American restaurants and also offers all-you-can eat theme buffets 3 nights weekly. The Mayan also offers a meal plan which provides a 30% discount on meals throughout the week.

Daily maid service is provided.

We book at either the Mayan Palace in Puerto Vallarta or the Mayan Palace in Nuevo Vallarta. We can reserve at either the Mayan Palace Marina Vallarta (on the beach in the marina district of Puerto Vallarta) or at the beach at the Mayan Palace Nuevo Vallarta - your choice! Each is unique, but we can offer any of the following: Easter, Holy Week, or Christmas/New Year's week or any other week during the year (subject to availability, of course).

We can highly recommend these family-friendly, full-service resorts which have lots to do for both children and adults (see activities below). Arrivals are for either Friday, Saturday or Sunday. This is a place where there is so much to do - take the plunge in the large, expansive pool; kayak on the lagoon or canals; jog the mile of beach; relax and enjoy the breath-taking views from the comfort of a shady beach-side palapa; work-out in the state-of-the-art gym; enjoy a relaxing seaside massage at the beach-side cabana; participate in numerous organized daytime activities for children or adults; daytime kid's club; shop at a large beach-side vendor stand; enjoy 18 holes of golf on the world-class course; take adventure cruises out of Nuevo Vallarta Marina; or just quietly relax at ocean side, just to name a few.

Banderas Bay is world famous for its marine life and natural beauty. The Mayan Palace Nuevo Vallarta is just a few minutes from the Nuevo Vallarta Marina, where Vallarta Adventures offers outstanding day and evening tours as well as the Swim with Dolphins park (please check the Vallarta Adventures Website (see www.Vallarta- Adventures.c_m for details on snorkel, scuba diving, whale watching, Las Caletas, Rhythm of the Night, and many other tours from Nuevo Vallarta Marina).

Both the Mayan Palace Marina Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta have extensive organized daytime kids and adults pool and beach activities programs lasting from early morning and continuing through late afternoon! Enjoy a full range of morning activities including yoga, stretching, Tai Chi, Spanish classes, aqua aerobics, water volleyball, beach volleyball, dance lessons, cooking classes, etc. etc.

Evening activities include theme all-you-can eat dinners several nights a week (please check out the Mayan Palace web site). Also, there are on-the-beach buffets with live entertainment 2 evenings a week (highly recommended). (please note, the resort is not all-inclusive, so meals are either al la carte or all-you-can eat buffet).

There is now a large palapa on the beach for selected Mexican arts vendors. The selection was very similar to that downtown and we found this to be a very popular mid-day diversion.

• 1 bedroom/kitchen/dining room unit - $1200/week*
• 2 bedroom unit - $1800/week*

* plus a nominal tax of approximately $25 USD for the week.

All units subject to availability. Best if rented 6 months in advance. We request at least 45 days notice in advance for rentals, but strongly suggest 6 months, as the Mayan rents out early during peak seasons (i.e., February 2010, Spring Break, and Christmas/New Year's weeks).
